Morehouse Prepared Horseradish (8 Oz.)

This is the only horseradish I will eat. I moved from southern California to Oregon, and wanting to eat local I tried the brands available here. Even the "mild" ones were so sharp that my sinuses would burn. I want something with a bit of kick, but not to the point of searing off my nose. Morehouse has just kick to perk up the food, but also a nice balance of cream, vinegar and spices. It's basically perfect. After trying the 8th bottle of horseradish up here and hating it and discovering that Morehouse isn't sold in my area, I was very happy to see I can get it through here. Now I always have a stash in my cupboard. I highly recommend this for steak, hamburger and salmon (yes, grilled salmon and horseradish are magical together, trust me!).

Exactly what Morehouse has always been: sharp clear flavor, not soggy, grind is size that it doesn't stick between teeth. Been eating it 60 years. I bought the 2 bottle package bc my friend liked to borrow mine and I got tired of it.

This is the best horseradish - no dairy, just clean heat with zero aftertaste (like mild wasabi). Other brands available in stores are usually very bitter. Would be 5 Stars, but one of the bottles arrived with product leaking under the lid (sold in glass bottle with no inner foil seal under the lid). An earlier purchase was perfect, so will probably try again.

It was a bit soupy, but excellent as a sauce. If it is to be used in a cocktail sauce, it is better to have something a bit thicker to prevent the sauce from being too soupy itself.

I should have read the reviews. My 2 jars arrived very nicely packaged however - as with other reviews - the lids had loosened up enough that the bubble wrap got covered in horseradish juice. The manufacturer has apparently failed to design a jar lid that consistently withstands shipping. In my opinion the shipper should discontinue this non-returnable item until the defective design is fixed, otherwise it will continue being a wasteful and frustrating roll of the dice for a growing number of unlucky buyers.

Product arrived with both lids loose. Lids were not off, but some liquid had leaked out. I refrigerated both bottles. I hope it didn’t spoil.
