Idemitsu Full Synthetic 0W-16 Engine Oil SP/GF-6B - 5QT

Use this on my 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, excellent oil!

Great oil, purchased 10 oil filters and one bottle of this oil. Has the consistency of thicken of water, however, manufacture knows best and this is what I use. Intend on purchasing additional two cases.

Although the manual suggests breaking the car in are as follows for the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback 2.0L Engine: First: 186 miles. Avoid Sudden Stops First 621 miles. -Do not drive at extremely high speeds -Avoid sudden acceleration -Do not drive continuously in low gears -Do not drive at a constant speed for extended periods of time I did my oil change at around 450 miles, and this oil is GREAT so far! I bought two of these, and really looking to see how this 0W-16 works. Hopefully more stores will start to carry it! However overall, this stuff has been great at a great price!

Crazy, but... The owners manual for my Japanese car, specifies this "unusual" oil. My dealership does not stock this stuff, you get 0-W20 in most cases. If your lucky, they have it in synthetic as specified. Does the substitution make any difference? Maybe it does not, or maybe you get one or two MPG less with the thicker oil. The engine starts and stops constantly, so maybe the right oil protects it better. Thing is, people buy a Prius for two reasons; Great MPG, and long dependable life. If you are a fanatic about those things, put the right oil in the engine. You only need to replace it every 10,000 miles. Okay, the owners manual says every 10,000 miles, I do it a bit more frequently because I live on a gravel road. Some other Japanese engines use this grade too, it is not just for a Prius.

I have a 13 year old Honda Insight with 234,000 miles. Normally i change my oil every 5,000 miles. At this oil change, instead of using 0w-20 oil I decided to try 0w-16. This oil clearly makes a difference. My engine has never run smoother or quieter. I was surprised at the result. I will continue to use this oil in the future.

Price was great. Quality and lubrication seems to be improved over Toyota oil. Evident by consistent improvemed fuel economy of 2-4 mpg for change interval 10,000 miles.
