Kupo Universal Stand (KS140811)

This is a wonderul stand. It is sturdy and is made quite well. It raises easily and supports my light, the CowboyStudio Mettle600ADstrobe with great performance, though a sandbag is necessary for perfect stability.

For the money, this stand can't be beat. It is bolted together rather than riveted. I use it for placing lights at close to 8 feet high. The legs are very stable. I have higher priced models that are made the same way.

I am a big believer in Kupo, this would be described as Heavy Duty as aluminum light stands with a 5/8 stud get. The Baby Kit was also in the running when I got this, from what I can tell, the biggest difference is T-top handles and HeliCoil thread inserts. Which I decided while nice, were not worth the difference in price.

Wow, very stout. And tall when fully extended, which is what I wanted. Well made and sturdy even fully extended. Will have no concerns with lights and modifiers fully extended. Would give it 5 stars if the dampening oil didn't ooze out when extending the sections. Hope this problems goes away.

I may have confused this item with another but this item is NOT air cushioned. It does seem sturdy, and I'm comfortable with my gear on it. There does not seem to be a middle ground between it being TIGHT or completely loose. My copy seems to be defective, one of the sections will not secure. I'll be returning it for this reason, and I will probably get a different product.

One of the best light stands ever. All metal high quality.

Awesome stand for the money. Every bit as good as my old Manfrotto Avenger of the same size but has the advantage of being assembled with nuts and bolts rather than rivets. Personally, I don't really care about the air cushioning but it's there if you need it.
