Great quality timers, I enjoy these for indoor applications or within a water tight junction box.
These are really terrific times and very dependable. They're very quiet without all of the gear noises and although they're designed for indoor use, I do use them for outdoor applications when placed within a watertight junction box and the results are wonderful. They're super easy to program and I've never had one fail.

Easy to program
Great switch. Little bit of a challenge to mount in a light box due to its size. Works great very easy to program and have had no issues in the past 3 years

Exactly!
Way simpler than digital. Can adjust time in seconds, EDT or not.

Gets stuck at off point
I bought this timer to replace the exact one I had to operate my whole house attic fan. The original was just over a year old when it quit turning. The new one worked for the on cycle, but would quit turning at the off cycle point. I tried loosening the plate and pulling the on/off switches half way out to see if that might help it work better, but it just sticks at the off point. Now ordered, "termatic Intermatic ST01 7 Day Programmable In Wall Digital Timer Switch for Lights and Appliances, Astronomic, Self Adjusting, Heavy Duty," here at Amazon. Hoping that will do the job.

Great out of the box, but not durable.
I prefer mechanical wall switches for my outdoor patio lights because they are much easier to program and are not has temperamental as digital timers when there is a power surge or power outage.I have purchased a handful of different mechanical timers from various manufacturers and none of them have been entirely dependable over time, including this model from Intermatic. This item seems well built though I have had one not work properly right out of the box. The Intermatic has the same time features found in other cheaper models such as Woods and UltraPro. However, it does the job well.......for a relatively short period. In my experience, having one of these timers somewhere with temperature variations, such as in a garage, a damp basement or on a wall with an exterior face (but mounted inside), it tends to cause this item to fail after a short while, namely the timing mechanism stops advancing properly. The Intermatic mechanical timers I have in the interior, environmentally controlled areas of my home have lasted much longer (up to four years), though once again over time, they ultimately fail.Do I recommend these timers? No, but there are not many other manufacturers of these types of wall timers and they have not performed particularly well, either.
