non damaging ,pretty awesome.
okay my hair is plain dark ash with 5 percent gray around face. I had highlights put in 6 wks ago, but I made the mistake of letting her put me under dryer to develop faster (I know better)...so my hair is fried in highlighted areas. I have medium naturally curly hair, light corseness texture. Hair Length is passed shoulders and thick. I also have soft water. I did whole head and that took almost 2 TUBES of Demi color and about a half bottle of developer. Demi- color used is 8N-8/10, this is called light natural blonde. I took advice from previous reviews on going 2 shade lighter and I'm glad I did, this color is a litter darker then I thought would be, but I love it. Gray coverage is okay, it blends a lot better, but not totally covered. My hair felt gross when I was rinsing out stuff and after shampooing but conditioner and deep conditioner changed that. It left my hair softer, the fried area's of hair look much better, feel softer and curl naturally again. I only wash my hair 1 a week, so this will last. ONCE AGAIN, GO 2 SHADES LIGHTER THAN WHAT YOU WANT. This stuff goes darker then you think. I will be using this for has long has I can get away with it to give my hair a break and then I will highlight again.

Review of Color Charm Activating Lotion.Has the lowest lift ,but very kind to your hair.
I love the Color Charm Demi products line and have tried many Demi colors. This is a review of the Activating Lotion which is needed to mix with the Color Charm Hair Color to activate it. I would not use Demi Hair Color with any other kind of higher peroxide lifting lotion. Remember lower peroxide means less damage to your hair and this does the least damage. Most Demi colors used with this will come out dark and will cover grey, but will go lighter with time and each shampooing. I would choose a Demi color nearest your original natural color and you won't be disappointed .This original Activating Lotion has about 6% peroxide . Just enough to set the Demi color of your choice.

Does not damage hair as much as higher "volumes."
I think a permanent wave damaged my hair, and maybe my scalp too because I've been losing hair. But I still want my hair to be a nice color, so I use this "10" volume developer with demi or semi dyes. I also use a bonding agent to repair my hair. So far, this developer seems to not damage my hair further while still making the dyes penetrate and "hold" well.

Great for depositing color, don't use for bleaching
For those wondering, this is a 6 volume (6%) developer. It's called activating lotion, but it's a developer. Same thing, different name. This will offer ZERO lift, all it is designed to do is deposit color. I have black, green, and light silver hair. I use this for the black and green, because the black is supposed to be dark (duh) and I like the true emerald green of Pravana. I use 20 volume for silver toning purposes, as it needs to be lightened during maintenance.Don't try to use it for blonde or light brown, yoully be disappointed. It will not work.It works very well when used for it's correct purpose and is nice and thick like a conditioner. It also left my hair soft and shiny, I really like it.However, this smells strongly like an old lady's perfume so, fair warning. (That's why the 4 stars)

Perfect for Shades EQ
I used this developer with Redken Shades EQ 8NA to tone my orange roots. It worked wonderfully. With the gloss, my hair looked the shiniest it has ever been. This is a great inexpensive dupe for the Shades EQ developer -- you get a lot of product for the price. Not very damaging.

Good Low Volume Develop but...
This is a good low volume developer but it still turned my dark hair a slight shade lighter. I wanted my roots to stay darker but this gave it a slight one color lift. The formula did well in my kinky curly 4c hair and didn't leave it feeling stripped, dry, and/or brittle. All Wella products seem to work well in my coarser hair. I honestly would reuse it since it did a good job with the color deposit using another Wella brand semi-demi color. I hope this review helps.

The developer to use for color charm demi permanent dye.
I have had great results using my wella demi permanent dyes, from light natural brown to violet brown with the help of this developer lotion. This is the developer you’ll need for any demi color charm dyes that come in the tubes. No noticeable damage and easy to mix.
