For me... the best razor EVER. 64 years experience makes that a BIG deal!
This, at least for me (and probably for you), is a truly unbelievable razor. It looks different, feels different and gives a perfect irritationless, bloodless, nickless shave!I have been shaving daily since I was 15 years old. I'm 79 now. I have shaved with Gillette's, Schick DE and injector razors, and probably every cartridge and disposable razor and blade ever made. I have several high end, some very expensive, DE razors. I have never, ever had a razor like this one (I'll wager you haven't either). For me at least, it is a perfect razor that gives perfect shaves... no matter what I do.I have had it for two days/two shaves. The first shave I was very careful in the beginning to "see what I had". The first half of the first pass felt a little rough, but from there on it was smooth as silk. I was told years ago, the Wilkinson blades initially hone their edges on your skin the first time they were used. In the '60s I found that to be true. In the years after, as their quality began to slip (for me), it no longer was. With this razor, after the first half of the first pass (with the grain), it was true again.I finished a two pass shave and was sold. I have a very course beard and sensitive skin. To finish the shave with a truly close shave with no irritation (and no nicks or cuts) was truly a treat.Today was my second shave. I set the razor up to fail by doing everything wrong I could think of, starting by going against the grain. It did tug some, but no worse that I get from a DE or Mach3. My chin has always been "nick central". I have a deeper area between my lower lip and chin. If I'm going to get a nick, or downright cut, that's where it happens no matter how careful I am. Not this time, and I wasn't being careful. I shaved with the grain, against the grain, then side to side with absolutely no problem, and the the tough to get rid of stubble was GONE... smooth as a baby's butt, and NO irritation or blood! My neck, which is an irritation collector, was smooth, clean and irritation free. Unreal!I'm going to try again tomorrow, but this time doing everything correctly. I have no doubt I'll get a pleasant, problem free, close shave. I will be shocked it I don't.People have complained about the proprietary blades. For me, who cares! I don't know how long the blades will last yet. I'll report back when I do, but given the easiness and results, I really don't care. The blades price out at about a buck per cartridge ($5 for 6 cartridges on Amazon). I expect to get several more shaves out of this one, but if I only get these two, 50 cents or so per shave is well worth it given the ease of use and results. 4 or 5 shaves makes it CHEAP given the results. Any more than that makes it a gift. The fit and spacing of the cartridge is perfect as is the weight and balance of the razor. Finish isn't absolutely perfect, but similar to more expensive razors. For me, this is the find of a lifetime.I found this razor when I was surfing the net. Didn't know they even existed. I have no connection to Amazon, Wilkinson, or any company having anything to do with shaving. I paid full price on Amazon ($24 is pretty inexpensive for a descent razor based on my experience). No covets. It you have a tough beard, sensitive skin, hard spot to get to, and are cost conscience to boot, you MUST try this razor. Give it a chance in the beginning. I promise, you won't be disappointed.

A close shave, no irritation, one pass...priceless.
Initially, I bought this razor based on looks and the name Wilkinson. It turned out to be a good decision. The razor comes in a nice sized black box with five blades ( Already, a plus, since most razors come with none to two blades.) The razor is flawless in fit and finish, with, what seems to be, a brass handle and pot metal cap. At first, the two finger pads on the top of the handle seem unnecessary, but are useful in screwing and unscrewing the cap ( Especially, if your hands are wet.) It is a heavy, well balanced, razor. There are two blades set in plastic, with a rigid bottom blade and flexible top blade. Now, for the best part, I got a comfortable, close shave on one pass. There were two spots that need a second pass, but with a DE razor there are multiple passes. When I say, a close shave, I mean straight razor, barbershop smooth. A close shave, no irritation, one pass...priceless.

Fantastic Razor - Beats them All for Me!
I am just an average middle age guy and while I have nothing against them I am not one of those influencers on Youtube who make it a biz to do razor reviews. I am truly agnostic when it comes double edge razors, electric and cartridge razors. For me it really comes down to how well a shave I get (closeness vs irritation and cuts) and cost as well as a degree that I can somehow minimize my contribution to the landfill. With all that said, t a GREAT razor and really does the trick for me. I have tried OneBlade (single edge razor) and a whole host of double edgre razors, injector style, GEM razors and of course the modern multi-blade razors and the Quad is the best - sensitive, extremely close and each blade lasts a long time for me - 10+ shaves used on a moderate to heavy bearded person.Yes - it is true the blades are proprietary meaning only Wilkinson sells them and there is always the risk that if this razor doesn't catch on then they will shelve it and discontinue production. But I think this is a bogus argument even injector razors, where there are only one or two manufacturers left, also suffers from the same issues. The only real issue I have with it is that the blades themselves are kept together in plastic and each blade quad set comes inside a plastic container. Not exactly great for the earth..Bottome line - if you want a really close shave without irritation that is very reasonably priced and comes with a handle that is fairly well made then give it a try. I love it but do feel a tad guilty about the landfill issue so I do not use it every day and mix it in with my injector and DE razors. Also - there is a cute Youtube video posted that shows how to make your own Quad razor blade using one DE blade and two injector razors cut to fit it and it seems to work quite well.

Was excited for this but the shave was just ok
I like shaving innovations, so I was excited to see a brand new idea in the razor market, even if it has proprietary blades. I am a very experienced double sided safety razor user so it seemed that quad blades would be a nice improvement. But, unfortunately, it wasn't. It's not a bad shave, but the overall issue is that the razor head is just huge, so it's not super maneuverable and it's definitely a challenge under the nose and even on the chin.Plus, the replacement blades are very expensive and surprisingly hard to find and the shave is just not as close as a standard double sized razor. A big bonus for Wilkinson trying to innovate in this space, but unfortunately it's just not the best shave out there and definitely comes at a cost premium.
