Looks great, Not Flimsy
I love this prop axe. It is well built and looks realistic enough that I was stopped at the Ren Fest here and asked to take it back to my car, until I showed them that the head is just rubber like substance. It also has some weight to it compared to many other prop weapons.. You could still put a hurting on someone if you had to. lol

For the price, a quality item
I bought two axes and I was definitely suprised at the quality of them. The handles are sturdy, but flexible, the blades edges are hardened foam and bounce quite well, while allowing a person to feel the hit. The only point of weak structure is where the axe head meets the handle. It's a thinner peice of foam, and thus is more susceptible to tearing. For a straight on hit, it should last awhile. Just can't pull with the beard. Will definitely tear.

Not for LARP—not a toy
This axe consists of a stout hard plastic or fiberglass rod covered by a thin veneer of foam and a thick layer of painted rubber. It’s solid and hefty (for an axe not made of wood and metal). Appropriate for costume, solo practice, training/demonstration, or fully armored LARP. Not safe for unarmored LARP or casual combative play. The striking surface, in particular, comes together to form a sharp hard plastic edge. It’s an axe, of course, and that’s what axes are. But this is marketed for safe play, and this sharp plastic edge could easily slice skin if swung with force. The shaft is quite stiff, with little if any flex. The base, reverse of axe head, and top of the shaft have no padding whatsoever—you could almost drive a nail with them Anyone using this for LARP should ensure their opponent doesn’t have bare skin showing, has armored their joints, throat, and other sensitive bits, and is wearing a functional helmet that fully covers the face. Again: this is not for casual unarmored LARP or for kids to whack at each other unsupervised. On the plus side, the axe head is firmly attached and can be used in *light* sparring or training demos for typical axe combat techniques such as hooks and pulls. Under the thickly-applied rubber coating it’s still foam, though: it’ll tear off if used with full speed or if trying to pull a planted leg or strapped shield.

I bought this for my Viking costume and it really added to it! I have it hanging up in my room and I’ll use it for other costumes as well. It was a really fun prop!
