Great tool for household projects!

Big powerhouse Small package
I just got my band saw but for small cut offs, notches, trims, quick cuts at the 5 in the morning shop activity and you don't want to wake the whole house, this is the ticket! I also have it on a swing down plywood base that frees up bench space when I don't need the saw. Simple blades and replacement action. Over blade adjustable stabilizer so cut off material doesn't rattle or bounce. Just for the hold down feature, this item is worth it! Dust collection is awesome. A standard shop vac hose end into the tubular anti-rattle mechanism vacuums any and all chips and dust. A great little machine that has so many practical uses.

Know your intended use
Having a quick to use saw for up to 1 1/2" stock that can both rip, crosscut and scroll is very handy. One should note the T-slot for the square is fairly loose in the slot. And it is a plastic slot with open areas along each side. (allows built up dust to fall out perhaps?) If you want a tool to cut birdhouses out of cedar, this thing will amaze you. If you want to build a cigar humidor with tight fitting joints, not so much. If you need a scrollsaw buy a good one (like a Bosch, DeWalt, etc., and you will be happier. The reason I gave it a 4 is, even knowing it is NOT a finish saw of any kind and still having a use for it, the manual is nearly worthless. So this is for you if you buy one. The blade "button" which allows you to inseert a new blade, is used like this. Push down on red button, pull button (and slide) to the left, push blade down to fully insert. release slide back to right. Blade will rotate to alignment and lock in place. A great feature once you figure it out. The manual has no verbiage. Just a picture with arrows going in multiple directions. This thing is loud. I have a Delta floor model tablesaw. This thing will drown it out even while I ripped a board on the Delta and this thing just running. It is a plastic much like garbage cans are made out of. Not sure how it would fare in a non climate controlled shop. But on the other hand, it won't rust.To sum up, at the price point I will not return it. I have been doing woodworking for nearly 45 years so I am used to having near commercial equipment for the cut quality they give. I didn't buy this for that, just some quick repair things where a power cord is available. Hope this helps someone.

JIGSAW TABLE
The media could not be loaded. July 2019...Assuming Amazon has not shadow banned this review...Still have it. The added variable speed control is nice (for this and my other devices). This product is mainly for 1" thick wood pieces, but I still like it. I have cut 3/8" thick 6061 aluminum successfully, once is enough. I guess an "orbital" blade driver would be better, but I have no experience with them. Lots of vibration if you want to use it for hard stuff. But I am keeping it! Again... If you ever wanted an upside down jigsaw, this is it.December 2, 2016...I replaced the hazardous speed control. Bought some 1 foot power cord extenders and stuck it in-line on one of those. Works great.January 24, 2016...Perfect for me. Makes occasional wood cuts a breeze. Use a small quick-clamp to clamp small pieces to the miter attachment, that makes clean cutting something like a 1 x 4 very easy. I tossed the guide arm, no need for that here. Don't even think about building an upside down jigsaw while this thing is available. My original review...I'm enjoying it. The rip fence and miter thingy make it more useful than I thought. Somebody complained about the blade guide being in the way so that the rip fence cannot be precisely the same measurement as it is at the blade. But that doesn't really matter. The blade has a kerf and it will cut accurately right there at the blade even if the other end of the rip fence is slightly misaligned (so that the material passes through the blade guide neck).I might be able to get rid of my miter saw now.Calling this a "table saw" is just confusing. A tablesaw is well defined... It has a circular blade, cuts straight only, and cuts much faster. Something like "jigsaw table" is a much better name for it.Buy some better blades and keep the supplied blades as backup. Bosch blades are sharper.Added a speed controller. There are serious risks involved, so do not try it unless you know what you're doing.WARNING: The way I have the speed controller connected in the picture is too risky for the vast majority of people. Sooner or later, I will get around to sticking the knob through the side of the plastic base so that it can be adjusted while keeping my hands away from the circuit. That will be much less dangerous. I just wanted to show that it can be used with the speed controller. And it has proven so. I notice no difference in the power regardless of speed.By the way... If you don't have one already, buy a modern headlamp like a Fenix HL-55. You'll never have to worry about lighting problems again for anything and everything you do around the house.

Don’t expect fast or high production but slow down too enjoy.
This is a handy tool but this is not a high production tool. If one moves too fast you will lose precision as blade will bend. One should screw this tool down of find some way to makes sure it doesn’t vibrate away from you if you push too hard.
