Great Option for a Wireless Sub
Recently added in-ceiling surround to our home. I wasn't thrilled about the need to run a long cable for our subwoofer as I wasn't sure we'd want to keep it in the same spot forever. This is the perfect option! It allows for fully wireless sub support with no sound delay. I'd highly recommend. It's a little bit of a pricey option in my opinion, but still works great!

Works exactly as it should!
Love being able to put the sub wherever without ugly wires! Approximately 20ft through the couch and table with no connection issues!

Finally whole house audio without running wires - simply
Have been researching for months to find a solution that allows me to have whole house audio without running wires. You will not believe that it works this easy. I am a tech geek and have tried everything else. Setup could not have been any easier. No drop outs, and perfectly sync'd/no delay, Most impressed that someone so small could do this. I have a ~2,000sq ft home, For my setup I have a WDLive media player connected to my NAS via Ethernet over Power device, connected to my receiver. So I am able to stream my music throughout. Currently I only have 2 additional W3 receivers connected, With inexpensive 2.1 speaker setup. So in each room I can control the volume. There is only one complaint and that is the power connector, I would use a regular square USB Power device that you might find for a smartphone, instead of the one which comes with, as if you were to try to plug this into a power strip it just becomes a huge challenge. This is a Wireless device, create the best open space around the device as possible to reduce interference. I would like to see a digital connection instead of just a analog for the transmitter as all my music goes into my receiver digitally, my receiver doesn't like to do the translation from digital to analog, a trip through the TV made it all work. However, I figured it all out. Love the device and would highly recommend. Will be purchasing more receivers.

May not be compatible
Audioengine products are topnotch. however in this case, I think there is some refining to the design that needs to happen because with certain Wi-Fi setups there are dropouts that occur. It is a well built unit and as I said would be perfect for people with a Wi-Fi setup that would be compatible. I can't give specifics on what is required for Wi-Fi compatibility. I would suggest that people interested in this device go to the audio engine customer troubleshooting website and read for themselves as to whether this unit may work for them or not. All of that said, the Audioengine support staff are excellent to work with.

They cut out. Damn!
I bought these W3s to wirelessly connect my brand new AudioEngine A5+ to my brand new AudioEngine S8 subwoofer. First they did not come with a RCA to female mini plug which is essential to connect the W3s. Imagine that! Even though all three components are AudioEngine and supposedly designed to go together. Now I have been listening to my system for two hours. The subwoofer is less that 20 feet from the “sender” which is just 3 feet below the A5+s on a bookshelf. The base generally sounds great and almost works beautifully but occasionally they cut out for ten seconds or so and then come back on. It’s annoying as hell. I’ll give it a week and fiddle with the placement a little. If I cannot get a consistent connection I will have to move the subwoofer out in the open, drill some holes and hardware the subwoofer to the bookshelf speakers and send the W3s back to the seller.

One Irritating Problem
I used this to stream audio from a laptop in my office to a stereo in the living room, a distance of about 30 ft. It was easy to set up and works well, with one exception: The signal intermittently cuts out for a period of about 2 to 15 seconds, then reconnects spontaneously (no need to press the CONNECT buttons, etc.) This isn't a major drawback, but it's an annoyance.

Wow! Terrific product and customer support!
We purchased a kit which contained the sender and one receiver. We subsequently ordered two additional receivers since the first one worked so well and we wanted to have music in other locations within our home. The AudioEngine products worked flawlessly for years. Then, one day nearly 4 years after being purchased, the sender failed. We decided to contact AudioEngine to explore options. Claire, one of their fantastic customer support people, worked her magic and replaced the sender and all three receivers under warranty. This is the kind of product and support that stands out as an example to others. Thank you Claire and AudioEngine!

Perfect for a remote subwoofer
I was originally searching for a subwoofer wireless kit and I didn't even think to look for a regular (full spectrum) wireless audio adapter. Then I bought this Audioengine W3. This is exactly what I needed to share my home theater sub with the KRK VXT4 speakers on the fireplace mantle. The W3 adapter doesn't need any configuration, just plug them in and they are already paired. One of them is labeled as the sender unit and the other is the receiver. The sub sounds great, I can't tell any difference from a wire. The USB plug is convenient because I already have USB ports on the back of the home theater equipment, so I have less clutter when I don't have to plug in yet another power adapter. Now that I think about it, wireless kits labeled for subwoofers are just labeled like that for marketing purposes, because any (high quality) kit that carries the full spectrum of audio frequencies like this one will carry sub frequencies.
