NUK Learner Cup, 5 Oz

After being given (new mom) several different sippy cups as gifts I have thrown most of them away {or I curse every time we use them as they require perfect alignment of parts or the leak the liquid contents} ... this one is a hands-down winner for me ... and I bought already at least 5 of them as I started giving them as baby shower gift ever since then. Good price, plentiful design. But most of all, you can assemble it without looking, no worries about alignment of miscellaneous parts. Also important is that the material of the nozzle resembles that of a milk bottle so moving your baby from the "bottle" to this sippycup is so natural it won't even notice. Some of the sippy cups have so huge nozzles that the tiny baby cannot squeeze it properly yet to take a sip. The size is just right, anything bigger and the baby won't be able to lift it up. The two handles are great for ease of operation of the baby since their motorical skills are just developing. Very important: beware of fancy shapes. Remember, you have to wash the milk or juice that is left from the bottom. This one with relatively straight sides has no hidden hard to reach crevices which are hard to reach even with brush [which you don't need for this one] or you will worry about old stuff rotting there. And the best: after 2 years of use [kiddo almost 2.5] the cup is still going strong, he still loves it and despite of his gnawing hobby the cup is still quite usable [read: sturdy design]. Conclusion: 5 stars minimum

This is a super sturdy little cup. It's made to be very comfortable and easy to hold. We got it as our baby's first sippy cup because I loved the design. The first one we received had a stain of some nature on one of the handles, but Amazon was great about replacing it. The second one was perfect. It's really easy to clean. All of the parts come apart on it. This is especially awesome, because you can spin the base so the handles line up properly with the sippy spout rather than trying to line the lid up. It's an awesome design in that regard. I clean mine in the dishwasher and the art hasn't faded at all. Sometimes if I'm in a pinch (as this is our favorite cup) I'll wash it with the bottle brush. It's a great first cup and I'm planning to get a second one - I only wish they came in other colors so we could have a variety (like a blue Eeyore maybe)

My grand loved his bottle so much I thought we’d never get him to use a sippy. I bought this and he LOVES it. I think it makes him feel independent and like a big boy. He actually loves this now more than his bottle. He’s only 9 months old so we are just starting to introduce sippy cups. I love the size of this one because it’s perfect for juice and easier for him to hold than the 10 ounce one. This is also amazing because I haven’t had any trouble with ANY leakage. He loves turning his bottle upside down and pouring it all over him so I give him this now in the car. I’m excited that he’s already taking a cup when I thought this would be the biggest obstacle. I’ve already bought another one.

I really like these cups. We have two of the 5oz learner cups and 3 of the 10oz active cups which we haven’t started using yet. My 9-month-old learned pretty quickly how to hold the handles and drink from the spout. However, my son likes to chew and bite so the spout was quickly chewed open which makes the water pour out all over the place. I just purchased replacement spouts so that we can continue using these cups for a few more months. Even with the spout chewed open the cup is still usable it just makes more of a mess. But they are nice cups and easy to wash.

Great sippy for transitioning from the bottle. My son seems to really like the soft spout enough that he doesn’t toss it to the side like others we have tried. The cup is easy to assemble and clean. We had an issue at first with the vent not working properly, which was causing the soft spout to collapse, but I think it is because we overfilled the cup. I dumped some water out and haven’t had a problem since. Also, my son doesn’t like to use the handles. He wants to just use the sides of the cup similar to the way he holds his bottle and the handles actually get in his way. I plan to buy some of the 10oz versions of this cup without handles to resolve this issue. Overall, I’m really pleased with this purchase and would recommend this cup to other moms who are trying to introduce their little one to a sippy cup.

This is the best transition cup. My LO started using this at 6 months. I really like it because you can change the nipple (they sell them separately). It was also a lot easier for her to hold because the handles come up from the bottom. As she got older we stopped needing the handles... they can be removed. Now we have the larger active cups too!! They wash easily in the top rack of the dishwasher. We own a total of 5 of these cups, and even with all the use the design hasn’t worn off. I’m glad because they are so cute!! UPDATE: To the reviewers complaining about the "spout tearing" or pieces of the nipple coming off... the packaging clearly says to change the nipples every 2 months or even sooner depending on use. If your LO is teething chances are they chew it a bit. Nuk sells the nipples separately which is also a plus for me. I don't have to buy a whole new cup just to change the spout.

Great quality cup, easy to use for our baby, and works a lot better than other cups we tried. Also, those handles make it look like a funny alien, so that's a plus.

Perfecto para mi bebé de 9 meses, lo agarró a la Primera súper fácil por lo que ya deseché los biberones desde el primer día. Me gusta que las asas puedo ajustarlas, tiene las medidas, los colores son bonitos y llamativos para bebés, la tetina no es tan suave, es un punto medio entre la rígida, lo cual me pareció Perfecto para lo que buscaba que era dejar el biberón. Había comprado Munckhin Latch Que son muy similares y ne gustó más este. Cabe mencionar que hago Lactancia Mixta, y no he tenido problemas con la lactancia y el nuevo caso de transición.
