MTX Cigar Scissors, Multi-tool, Black

A spectacular cigar cutting tool! Xikar MTX is great as it can handle any size ring gauge and cut off the foot of a cigar if it starts burning unevenly. The blades are very sharp and provide a very crisp, clean cut. Accessory tools include flat head and poker tool. The poker tool is useful for trying to unplug cigars, but it would be better if the tool was longer. One thing I’d caution on the Xikar MTX is to not keep it in your pockets with keys are the paint will likely chip. Overall still a great cutter due to its compact size and useful flathead and poker tool. The MTX folds up so you can easily transport it most anywhere. Most importantly the sharp blades make for a clean cut with a lifetime guarantee.

Works well on smaller diameter cigars but definitely not work the price. There are way better cigar cutters for less money. It looks bigger in the picture than it really is.

Compact, sharp, multi tool. Item is exactly as described. I was anticipating it to be a bit larger but actually like the compact (foldable) size.

These are probably the best cigar scissors you can get. Very very sharp and a clean cut every time. The nice thing about having these sharp scissors is, you can trim up the cigar while still having a super sharp cut. Highly recommended.

I had bought one of these tools a while back and really liked it. Unfortunately, I misplaced it somewhere. Maybe it will turn up one day, but I was so reliant on the tool that I ordered another. It arrived quickly but the black finish was badly chipped on one side. I figured for $50, my new tool shouldn't look like it was dragged along the ground. So, I returned it and Amazon sent another. This next tool didn't function properly. When opened, the small tools inside wouldn't stay in place, just jiggled around. So, I returned that one as well. I just ordered a third--maybe that will be the charm. In any case, I know the things are made in China, but for $50, and with the Xikar name on it, I'd expect at least some small degree of quality control. If this third one isn't right, I'll return that one, and buy the no-name tool that Amazon sells for half the price.

I like the form factor and how easy it is to carry on you person however it's not a great cutter. It is very sharp that being said something about the edge geometry and it's ergonomics, it doesn't yield a clean cut compared to other guillotine cutters I've used; I've found myself having to recut the cigar because of the odd angles of the cut. Furthermore, it has a tendency to crack the wrappers. It's also worth mentioning that the shears out of the box are very stiff. I later found out that the stiffness comes from the paint on the joints of the shears, and when that paint wears off it'll become smoother to operate. I like the idea on paper however I'm disappointed to find that this is poorly executed. A shame because Xikar does make some good accessories.
