Very good dvr and easy setup
As described and setup was very easy. I replaced my old dvr with this one. I just connected the plugs and it worked and connected to the internet without needing any IT knowledge. It comes with a remote which is super helpful and something other dvr companies do not offer. The app is good and user friendly. The only feedback I would give is I hope the playback feature is more user friendly on the app.

Good all around DVR
This particular DVR supports 1080p cameras which is all we wanted. We have 4 cameras setup and they are all different brands and work fine. The basic breakdown of our cameras is 1 coaxial PTZ, 1 wifi standard camera and 2 Poe PTZ which all work fine with this DVR. The DVR menu allows for control of all of the PTZ cameras. It is very quiet and easy to use. It is remotely accessible. We added our own 3.5 SATA hard drive which keeps the 4 streams for about 3 weeks prior to overwriting.

Works perfectly
The motherboard on my old Night Owl bit the dust leaving me looking for another system. Since the hard drive and cameras still worked, the last thing I wanted to do was buy a full system. This Tigersecur works perfectly with my Night Owl 2mp AHD cameras and very user-friendly. It's missing one screw but I can deal with that.

exceptional value
In todays age we expect lower price to equal lower quality. This is not the case with this dvr. This dvr replaced a commercial unit that was 3 times the cost. The quality on this unit was evident the moment I connected the first analog camera and subsequently the rest. The old unit gave me fuzzy grainy video, this unit gave me crisp, sharp images and only needed minor adjustments. The menu was easy to use for setup. Two concerns which I expressed to tiger was that I missed the ability to have camera1 (front door) in lager picture than the other 7 cameras and that it was a hassle when the computer went to sleep I had to relogin and wait for a minute to active cms on computer screen again. Both these issue were addressed when they provided me Pro cms software.the other problem I had was setting the motion to record following there instructions in the book. Once again they addressed this by providing step by step instructions in return email.Support was quick to resolve these issues. The 1 negative that I have is that the 8ch has a vga and hdmi out but does not have a bnc out, whereas the 16ch does. I needed both a vga & bnc out and subsequently ordered an adapter to accomplish my need.Would definitely recommend this product line and would definitely buy again.

They are awesome
I have 3 of these DVR's, and we love them. No subscriptions,no bs, they just work and work great. I had one issue with losing the password to one of them, and their support is top notch, Ian specifically helped me, I would never buy any other kind due to the support alone.

Clunky ripoff
This "TIGERSECU Super HD 1080P 8-Channel Hybrid 4-in-1 DVR" is clunky, slow, and feels barely functional. It struggles to view a single video playback and will frequently skip frames while doing so. When recording with motion detection, it sometimes decides to trigger a motion event when the area with motion is eliminated from motion detection. When looking at the basic features of playback, it's incredibly lacking, giving no ability to simply view the video files in a folder as an option, but instead gives a timeline with lines you sometimes can't even click on because the motion of the mouse cursor may skip over the single pixel of that line. You can individually select the hours/minutes/seconds for playback from their respective boxes, but that process is far more lengthy to do than clicking the timeline. Even when playing back the video, you'll find issues with playing at a normal speed if you've decided to speed through some of the footage, or rewind it, then return to a regular playback speed, as the only way to return to a regular playback speed is to pause the video, then click play. However, doing so can then cause the playback to halt for a few seconds as it's supposedly playing it, then skip over those seconds of footage when it finally decides to show the video rather than a still image. If that's not bad enough, it can't even keep track of time! Sure, you can set the time and date, but it's essentially useless because it'll slowly drift and become inaccurate. I have a 20-year-old digital alarm clock that can keep track of time without any problems, yet this thing will grow to be about 1 minute ahead of time with about every passing week. So, every few weeks or so, I have to reset the time on it to be correct. I told them about this issue about a year ago, so they've had plenty of time to fix it, but they apparently don't care, because their newest firmware for it was released, according to their site as I'm posting this, 9 months ago, and it didn't fix it. Their only response to this was to tell me to connect the DVR to a server so it can automatically update the time settings. NO! How about you actually program something functional and not have it feel like a high school project! It should be capable of keeping time WITHOUT an internet connection!Overall, this feels like a $20 toy being sold for 6.5 times that cost. I'm tired of resetting the time, I'm tired of motion detection triggering a recording when something in an exempted region moves, I'm tired of the clunky interface, and I'm just tired of how dated and cheap the whole thing feels. You can't even give it a great deal of accuracy for that motion detection, nor is it capable of discerning specific shapes. All you can do is toggle large squares and hope it actually decides to cooperate when those squares are disabled. Even then, it's not possible to see WHICH of those squares is where the motion is being detected.Oh, it's also not possible to enter any presets beyond 127, so if your camera has a function outside of the range 0-127, as mine does, you can't use that function. It's also not possible to manually reset it without completely unplugging it, or by changing the scheduled automatic reset time so it triggers immediately after you set it. The only means of manually resetting it is to click its "Shutdown" button in the "Maintenance" window, then you can unplug it and plug it back in. Even the remote for it has been utterly useless, so it's something I didn't bother with after the first day of having the thing. No idea how this is considered a good DVR, as all the information I found about it before my purchase claimed it to be. This is an atrociously pathetic DVR that no one should buy. I demand better, so I'll NEVER be purchasing anything from Tigersecu ever again.

An excellent DVR/NVR Hybrid
I have been using an 8 channel TIGERSECU 2mp DVR/NVR hybrid for almost a year now. This is the 3rd security camera DVR I've owned in the last 6 years and by far the best of the three. It was purchased from Amazon without a Hard Drive for a very reasonable price. Installation of a 1 TB Hard Drive was easy. The unit has all the functionality one would ever need in a security camera DVR for home use. I am using two POE cameras and two wired AHD cameras. The ability to use both wired and IP cameras increases the capabilities of the system. The support team at TIGERSECU is excellent. They respond quickly when needed and have had the knowledge to help me with some initial learning curve problems I had. And they stand behind their warranty. My remote strangely quit working a couple weeks ago and the team at TIGERSECU had me a new remote mail within a week.I can highly recommend the TIGERSECU hybrid DVR/NVR. For the price and functionality it would be hard to beat.
