Happy with purchase. They looked great once they were put on. Would recommend maybe instructions on how to properly wear boot tops. It was good value for the money.

This product is for a customer that is proportioned opposite to me.I'm a 5'8" tall male, but I am not stick thin, and I have roughly size 11 feet.The elastic straps at the bottom are so tight I could only fit them over a flexible barefoot running shoe (Merrells with Vibram soles), and even then just barely. Once that ridiculous task was complete I finally got the chance to put them on, and much to my amazement the tops were so incredibly huge that they wouldn't stay up on my legs.One would think, incorrectly, that the laces are there at that top for helping to tighten it against your calf, but I assure you they would only be useful if you leg were somehow larger than the opening. The ties are apparently only for comedic effect, or to make sure you're double frustrated with the product after the arduous task of getting your shoe in the elastic.Mind you, I am not against a little costume product modification, but this product is designed so poorly I can't justify paying $20 for it only to have to basically remake the product myself.These are going back, and my costume will be without boot toppers this year.

I bought these, fully expecting to do modifications and they did not disappoint.I wear a size 13 shoe, so not surprising the fastening system couldn't accommodate. But it was really small, and poorly constructed. After replacing the two short elastic strips on the bottom with one longer one and sewing it in securely, I had something workable. I used the two elastics to reinforce the back of the heel (seam split open immediately) and at the top of the boot where another seam opened up.I'm docking one star for the poor construction (not necessarily for sizing, although it is related).I'm docking another star for design ... the boots won't stay up. I have large calves and once I pulled up the boots, they fit snugly. But the boots would slide down as I wore them. Instead of being around my calves I kept finding them at my ankles. And that was fitting snug on my legs. Someone with thinner legs wouldn't be able to keep them up at all. I'll probably do some more modifications and insert some boning in them for next time.That said, despite the modifications and other issues, I got several compliments. My brother was convinced I bought full on period boots. He's not the most observant guy around, but still, he raved about the boots and had all kinds of questions. I didn't even tell him they were slip overs.

Fits over even my thick calves so they might be baggy on someone else. Absolutely loved their appearance over any shoes and really brought my pirate look together.

I will start with the pros: the boot material is nice and they look very good, style was 5/5 and will definitely add to your costume/lookNow for the flaws, which are disappointing considering the price:The shoes strap are terribly small, I wear a size 10 mens and stood no chance; both straps broke off. I ended up having to sew the straps together (there were two) to make one large strap.Next issue, the top of the boot was very large and there is no good way to adjust it with scrunching the lace portion together, I ended up tying the laces around my calf first and then putting them through the lace holes. Perhaps they could include some sort of band or garter which would help from fallingThe last issue, this one is not a biggie and does not effect anything other than style, the portion that is meant to be the boot strap is a bit loose and they could include buttons that are not as raised which just kind of dangle there.Overall, if you don't mind dealing with the issues above the look is great and is a solid faux leather pair of boot covers. If the things above do bother you perhaps try elsewhere as functionality is subpar.

I do wish these were bigger or had a way to stretch but they work well for the cosplay I used them for.

I will start with, this item is on sale. That's why I purchased it I'm using it next year, it's a good product for Halloween costumes, important to know: you should put your shoe inside first, then put your foot in or else you'll break the bottom elastic traps. Mine has a defect of a Twisted trap, but it's underneath so I didn't care. However the top part is very loose on the calf, so safety pin or velcro will work quality is ok for my need, looks with my driving shoe I wear sz 10
