Drilled about 30 1/2" holes through an aluminum bronze alloy (954, used in bearings, bushings and gears).This is a rather hard alloy with low heat coefficient of expansion.Bought two drill bits, expecting to use both, but drilled all with one. The last hole was as easy as the first. Great product. Smooth cutting. Very happy with the results, and would (and will) buy again.

I was drilling 3 holes in hard 1/4 inche steel for a bench vise. My carbon/titanium bits were taking forever to get through, so I stopped after sore arms, shoulders and wrists, and ordered these Cobalt 5% bits hoping they would work beter , and WOW!!! What a difference. Honestly drilled 3 holes in less than 5 minutes. Now I have 1/2 inch drill bits I an depend on. Barely no effort and cut beautifully.I drilled slower speed and used light oil. Worked like a charm.

No problem drilling a clean, correct 1/2" hole in hardened (Rockwell 32C) 4140 alloy. These are decent drills for the money.

Burned up some drill bits on tool steel... Would recommend.
