Perfect built quality and feels safe
As part of my professional editing setup this harddrive works perfectly, built quality is great Very easy plug and play Feels safe

Good Rugged HDD performing as advertised.
The 5TB model hit and exceed the speeds that is advertise 130mb/s. BlackMagic Speed Test at 1GB file size it hit on average 252.4 mb/s write and 142.2 mb/s read. However, with 5GB file speed test on average 121.3 mb/s write and read 139.6 but, it is common for the 5GB test to have lower speed due to larger file. I also carried out Amorphous Disk Mark 4.0.1 Speed test which is similar to BlackMagic. The results of the test is similar to BlackMagic which exceed the advertise speeds 150mb/s read and 132 mb/s write. All the tests were carried out with MacBook Air m2 via the included The hard drive is rugged with good level of protection and the speeds are great for spinning disk. Don’t forgot the hard drive in-side is just seagate 2.5 HDD with nicer case around it. The included USB C to Micro USB 3.2 Gen 1 which is limited to 5gbps which is way faster then what the hard drive can do. Overall I would recommended if you don’t mind paying extra for the rugged hard drive.

HDD great, solid but Creative cloud offer does not work
Update: Lacie have called me in response to my last email I sent them apologising as they have stated they did not receive the details I sent them. I re sent them whilst on the call and they confirmed the mail made it to them, this was very positive and I will update the review on the conclusion. I already had some of these drive in a different capacity & was pleased with them. Unfortunately when I went to try to claim the free creative cloud offer on this purchase the Lacie app just kept sending me to a URL where the page did not exist stating 404. Customer support has been poor telling me to use the app, I explained the app don't work and they closed the ticket. This concerns me as if I had a fault with the HDD I know Lacie would not be a reliable source of support however as I purchased these in the UK Amazon provide the warranty under law so I am going to keep them as I know I don't need Lacie's help if things go wrong.

Easy to set up.and use
This is easy to use and easy to set up and you can also register it and they insure the product I.e. lacie .. It's a rugged drive which will still.work if you drop.it or run over it in your vexhile... It's recommended for your apple laptop or iPad or Mac.. The drive is quite fast but could do with being like a 9200tpm meaning a little faster The price of.this.is very high however what you have to remember is this is not a standard hard drive this is a branded one a lacie and it's very fast ideal for your apple equipment and overall I do recommend

Good value for money and performing as described
Was the best value for money when I bought it. Performing the same as mentioned on the box and wake up time is a few seconds. Thanks!

The machine failed after about 1 month's use. I sent it back and its came back to me as a "certified repair" Within the last 10 months it has totally failed. I used it about 5 times during that time. I have consigned to the garbage now where it seems perfectly at home. You may ask, "Why didn't you send it back again?" And I would reply, "Because I don't want it to be returned to me again as a "certified repair." LaCie STJJ5000400 Portable Hard Drive, 5TB Rugged Mini USB 3.0 is a heap of junk. I will NEVER use this company again. I would give zero stars if it was possible.
