Burning Crusade Limited Edition Keyset for Zboard

I got this as a gift(along with the zboard) for my loving, and completly addicted to WOW Boyfreind. I used to play myself and i have to say...im a impressed by it. They shift key being split is a little aggrivating sometimes and you really do have to get used to it, but all in all, its a great product.

If you played your games with an standard keyboard this will take a little getting used to.However, once I did get used to it I really wasn't that impressed. In a nutshell, the keyset (you need to buy the base unit first)simply creates Macros for some of the most common commands. Other than that it's a standard keyboard with the righthand numerical key section removed.If you did buy the base unit it comes with two keysets, a standard keyboard layout and one for gaming. The gaming keyset is laid out in a very different manner, larger red keys for movement on the left etc. the difference is that the software enables you to customize the key commands using Macros for your game. You don't need to be a Brain Surgeon to customize the keyboard. Simply visit you games many community or fan sites and you can find Macros that you can copy and paste to the keyboard. I was able to customize the standard gaming keyset that came with the base unit in a very short time.Personally, I'd say to save your money and just buy the base unit. Configure the keyboard yourself to the way you play the game. The little research you may have to do to save the money is well worth it.

Could have been a 5 star EXCEPT ................ there is that Shift key thing. On other keyboards the shift key is double wide, for some reason on these keyboards the shift key has been cut down and an * key added in. It's irritating to say the least. The "everyday" keyboard takes a little getting used to in that the space bar is split, other than that it is a great setup. I love being able to change layouts on the fly, and the USB ports are amazingly wonderful. BTW the layout for WoW is very well done. Thanks for a great product!

The item is an overlay for a gaming keyboard. Since I didnt have the original keyboard needed, I haven't used it yet. So I rated it one star because I couldn't find in the advertisement where it says keyboard overlay (manufacturer added it later). It does say keyset, which I did not know was another word for overlay. This item will not work on a regular keyboard you must buy the zboard keyboard for another chunk of change. To me, this isn't worth it.

This product went belly-up after 1 year of use. My son and I were both using and we did switch keyboards often as he enjoyed the WoW keyboard and I prefered a regular qwerty board. I don't know if it was the constant changing of keyboards that caused the problem or near constant use or just poor design. We have shared a Dell keyboard that came with the computer (nothing fancy) for over 5 years now and it still works so I'm thinking zboard isn't made to last.As for how good it makes you at WoW. All I can say, is I didn't use any of the special buttons. There really is nothing this board and keyset does for you that you can't already macro in-game. You then have to learn new placement of keys if you do use it and were able to get it installed (also not very user friendly).My son did love it, but I watched him using it and didn't see him using any of the "special" keys either. I think with the kids, it is just eye candy. Zboard is getting over-rated by younger folks who are enamored by WoW and anything WoW related. The keyboard itself may deserve an average rating but I'm going low because I really think 1 year is poor and an over-rated product needs some balance.Short review- Maybe 3 stars if you don't mind difficulty of use and it lasts more then a year (mine didn't).1 star because it is over-rated and needs a reality check.

Works great

Too bad they don't still make these. My boyfriend used this bad boy for 4 freakin years. Well the keyboard. He bought each new WoW keyset that came out. This keyset lasted until he bought some new Steelseries keyboard like a year and a half ago. So ya the Zboard and keysets were epic. Too bad they didn't just keep making them....

I have had this keyboard for a very long time.....I started with the original WoW keyset and had to replace that twice. Now, I bought the BC keyset and this is my second one. I love the functions, or I would have just gone ahead with a regular keyboard a long time ago. I prefer this keyset over the original cause it has PVP and raid functions. I do recommend this product for WoW gaming it does make things easier, but like I said....I just wish it was more durable.
