Rubie's Deluxe Harry Potter Costume

We love this costume and have already used it for several occasions since it was purchased. We made the original purchase for our son to wear to a Harry Potter themed charity event in September 2016 when he was 7 years old (thin and average height). After reading through other reviews we decided to go with the size large so it would be something he could use for a longer period of time. It was a little long on him, but a couple of safety pins at the bottom made that a simple fix! Otherwise, the size large was a great fit and felt like a wonderful value knowing he'd be able to get plenty of use out of it for a few years to come. It has been worn for trick-or-treating, themed school days, and once again in January 2018 for the second themed charity event. This year at age 8 1/2 he can now wear it without the pins at the bottom and I would guess that he still has plenty of room for at least another year or two. The costume has held up well and we have had no issues at all with the quality. Very pleased with our purchase and I would definitely buy it again when we finally need a larger size!

INCREDIBLE QUALITY!!!! This is made of a thick warm felt, and the patch is indeed embroidered! The clasps appear just fine, although I know others complained they were cheap and break easily, I assume they will probably break throughout my son's day at school... I wish the entire robe was lined with the red fabric (it is actually just a 3" wide strip of red fabric along either edge, and of course lining the hood). The local Halloween stores wanted $30 for the cheaper version, and even after shipping this was only about $28 for me. My main concern was warmth for my son while Trick-or-Treating, and I think layered with the long sleeved white shirt and a gray sweater (from home, not included) this should keep him warm in Michigan. That being said, I think it would be miserably hot if we lived in Florida. It's about as heavy as a decent sweatshirt. My son is pretty tall for 9, wears a 14Husky usually, this fit him pretty good, just barely closes in the front.

I am a librarian and wore this a few times for Halloween. It's perfect for occasional Harry Potter dress up times. It was a nice quality product and I really looked like Harry Potter! As far as the clip people talk about, honestly, I preferred it without that. I didn't even use it, but if you want to close it, a safety pin would be fine. It would have hidden my Gryffindor sweater and tie to close it. The only cons are the inside lining does need to be ironed and if you have a pet, be prepared to pull the hair off of it because it all sticks! The hood is kind if big and pointy, but I personally thought that was cute! It's fleece, but I felt like it was a good quality product, especially for the price. The house emblem is sharp. I will use it for years. Fast shipping, as ordered, on time. Packaged well. I'm a 5'2" adult, and it was a good length for me.

Just received this Robe todday. As mentioned previously, it is made of a felt-type medium weight material and not shiny light weight material. I would not recommend this version of the robe for Warm states (such as Florida - it might be a little hot) at Halloween. Here in NJ it is a crap shoot. As mentioned previously, the maroon (yes more pink than maroon) lining is not complete, this does not bother me for a Halloween / Dressup Costume. I will likely tack it down with the double-iron tape just to make it stay, but again, not important to me. The Patch is better than decent quality and sewn very well on the robe. The buttons seem ok - but due to previous reviews, I will not play with them. I do not remember the other reviews mentioning the hood - which is very long and tapers like a witches hat. I liked it a lot. My son is 10, 70ish pounds and 4 foot 6. Robe fits well. It is a few inches (4 or 5) from the ground and I am ok with that so he does not trip. He received the wand for Christmas and I bought the glasses (which were not intended for younger than 14...and slide a little down his nose). Overall, I am very happy and glad I ordered it now before the price goes up for 2012 Halloween.

Thought for sure I would get the imposter, (Murpheys law rarely escapes me). I was happy to see it was just as described. The clasp is flimsy. I broke it trying to figure it out, (instructions would have been helpful- but superglue saved the day), but my daughter loves it. It was warm on Halloween and I am very pleased. Pricey- but at least it was the true deluxe, and the rushed shipping didn't help my wallet- but that's not their fault... The seams are not clean, the quality could be better for the price, but I ordered at a bad time and am thankful I got the better of the 2 that were being sold as the same, (the imposter I've read was a flat out rip-off). I researched the manufacture # to the sellers descriptions and crossed my fingers.. Embroidered crest was not helpful, as they all said that... It was embroidered, but not embroidered to the felt. Glued or sewed... Anyhow, we like it, and she still wears it... And it's still in relatively good shape and I've washed it many times already, and my daughter plays hard :) nothing is gently used around here...

I shopped around a LOT, trying to make sure I got a high-quality robe for my daughter's Halloween costume. I had read some were thin, ripped, and had cheap crests stuck on them. I read reviews that this robe was high-quality and I was not disappointed! The robe was thick and very high-quality. There were no strings or seams unraveling, and the crest appeared embroidered on or sewn on. We live in place where it gets cold for Halloween and my daughter said that she was perfectly warm without a jacket or a coat. I bought a large hoping it wouldn't go to her knees, and I was also not disappointed in this. It went to her ankles perfectly and she is 12 and close to 5 feet tall. It was the exact fit we'd been hoping for. I highly recommend this product.

This is the nice felt fabric with the stitched hogwarts logo and has the red lining. My son loves it and plays in it all the time. It is holding up surprisingly well considering the torment he puts it through. I wash it on the gentle cycle and hang dry it and it still looks perfect. He has had it since mid October and it is now December. Best quality of costume I have purchased and absolutely worth the price. Very impressed. Also, my son is in the 90th percentile in height at 6 years old and I bought the Large size. It is big on him but I just roll the sleeves and it fits fine. If your child is shorter I am betting that the size of the robe runs a little large and long.

We saw similar robes at Universal Studios when we went to visit the Harry Potter attractions and my daughter begged for one, but when we saw the $100+ pricetag I kind of backed off and got her a wand instead. But I promised her when we got home that I would get her a Happy Potter robe and have been researching them ever since. I decided on this one since it's made from a fabric similar to Polartec (not that horrible nylon that graduation gowns are made of) and comes with the maroon color touches. First off: sizing- my daughter is (almost) nine, a little petite for her age, and I went ahead and ordered the Large thinking she could grow into it. It's a bit big on her (mostly long) but she LOVES the way it billows out behind her when she walks. The quality is fair, but excellent for a costume. It's a mid-weight polarfleece material. Some of the edges of the costume are a little rough and not hemmed, and the maroon color around the edges is just a simple, thin piece of fabric sewn in as opposed to a full lining, but this is a REALLY nice item for the price. Even the patch is heavy-dut and embroidered and sewn on thoroughly. Overall, this was a big hit. I'm very happy with my purchase, but my daughter is even happier. Since the robe arrived, she hasn't really taken it off- whenever she's home, it's on. That's a pretty winning endorsement.
