Sichuan Peppercorns 4 Oz.

I reordered these Sichuan Peppercorns because these peppercorns enhance the taste of my cooking and the price is affordable. I used 10 - 15 peppercorns in all types of meats: steak, chicken, and porks especially lamb chops to enhance the meat flavors. Use it in cooking and you will love the outcome of the dishes,

Since I know this spice I am impressed by its taste and versatility of use. My favorite application is adding taste to tea. ... but there are a lot more. These peppers are normaly quite pricy and I feel that this offer provides excellent value for money. Maybe there is better, but it definitely suits my tastbuds.

They were ok. The spice came in a commercially packaged/sealed bag. The taste is mild. It's not the same zingy zappy Sichuan pepper I am used to, but I guess that is why the price is lower. It does add some flavor though, so it is not a complete waste. My next purchase I will go with another brand.

These were fantastic and just what I needed to make my homemade general tsao chicken taste authentic. They're potent enough that the amount I bought will probably last us a year. I usually grind them up with some other seasonings with our spice grinder. The only down side is that the packaging isn't great for resealing. It's the flimsy plastic that is tough until you cut it and then it wants to tear further every time you touch it.

Better than expected flavor and quality.

If I could give this product a Zero stars, I would. So, this bag is full of actual szechuan peppercorns. About 15% of the volume of this bag is inedible stems and seeds; the actual rinds of the szechuan peppercorn fruit are very dry and seem to be very old. They are musty tasting and barely have any flavor at all. The seeds and stems leave a gritty (like mineral sand) feeling in your mouth and teeth. And worst of all, they appear to be nearly impotent.I have had good szechuan peppercorns before, and these are trash. When they arrived, i could smell them outside of the mailbox, I got excited, because I assumed that it was because they were potent - but, much to my chagrin, I would discover it was because they must not be sealed in a very airtight packaging. I tried a few raw and discovered that they had a gritty/disgusting texture, so I decided to pulverize an entire teaspoon of them - enough to numb your entire mouth several times over and make you salivate uncontrollably for a good 15 minutes straight - swished it in my mouth with a little water for 30 seconds and spit it out. Barely resembled the lemony goodness of good Szechuan peppercorns, a bit musty, and overpoweringly SALTY of all things?! And the intended numbing effect was very underwhelming, as if I had eaten just 3 or 4 tiny peppercorns of the other brand I have had in the past.This product is garbage, don't waste your money.

I use these whole as well as grinding my own to heat-up dishes a little.They are good, but I expected more heat.

The flavor is pretty basic, but not as flavorful as other peppercorns that I've purchased in the past. I live in an area where asian markets are not nearby so I thought I'd just order some off amazon, but I regret it. I paid more than I normally would at the market for a lesser quality item. I don't hate it, but also don't love it.
