Great rack for the price and easy to install!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Bought this rack for my 2024 Ford F-150 so I could find a way to mount my kayak racks to my truck, which has a tonneau cover. The rack itself was very easy to install but I had to do some reto fits to make this rack work for hauling my two kayaks. I've included some pictures to show some of the things I had to do to make it work. If you're looking at installing this rack in a Ford F-150 you'll need to purchase the leg extensions. I tried many other racks and extension bars but this is the only rack one that worked with truck because of the tonneau cover. The side bars slide right out when I'm not using it for the kayaks and than I'm able to close my tonneau cover with no issue.

Works so far for carrying an xl kayak
Racks were simple enough to install. They came with a couple basic diagrams describing how everything goes together, not step by step instructions. I added a few thin pieces of steel behind the mounting hardware to spread the load of the bolts. A large washer would also accomplish this if you are worried about the bolts bending/pulling through relatively thin steel. The mounting hardware will require punching two ~ 3/8in holes into your bed and side walls. Fastening the bed’s bolts were tricky and required a partner(or magnetic wrench, XL socket extension) to hold a wrench under the bed. After tightening the allen key insert screws, the uprights became very sturdy with no play. This rack held an 80# 16’ kayak for a 30 mile round trip going 65 mph. I will update this review with more trips.

Buy Bigger Washers! SOLID for the cost.
This seems to be a solid product. I just installed it a few days ago, so haven't used it yet. But She's sturdy. I do unfortunately have 2 complaints.. First off, the bottom mounting tab was slightly off center on one, causing me to have to bolt the bottom down, then bend straight. Secondly, the washers provided were pathetic.. Go to a hardware store, buy some fender washers (may have to grind a couple flat sides into washers for clearance) you'll see a much sturdier outcome. All in all, seems to be a solid product for the money. Would recommend.

Easy to install, easy to remove.
I’ve seen quite a few complaints about this rack, but I have few. It’s easily removable with an Allen wrench, it took me about an hour to install due to looking for just the right placement, removing the plastic Bedliner (which I later cut and reinstalled) and drilling all the holes. But all in all it was simple. This is perfect for an older truck that has the exposed lip on the bed caps. If you have a newer truck like a newer ram with the ram box or something with flush bed caps, this will be a next to impossible install. But take a look at my photo and see where the top mounts are installed. Right in the lip where it folds the bedsides together. My only complaint is that the little Allen bolts tend to fall out sometimes. I have to re tighten them each time I pull off the ladder because retightening the ladder down the racks will move and the bolts will lose their grip. Not a big deal. I’ll just use some Teflon tape next time. Just a minor inconvenience but for $100, I can’t complain much.

One of the brackets was defective, the welding was poor.
One of the brackets was not properly welded and the bracket got disconnected. I have pictures of the defective bracket. it is so frustrating that after hours of installation, now my truck is going to have some holes due to installing a defective part

Great ladder rack for the money.
Easy to install and the mount design will conform to most beds. Drill 6 holes, and you're done. It's sturdy, and doesn't squeak or rattle. It's solid. I've been using mine for over a year and no issues. I strongly suggest using larger and THICKER washers under the nuts, because they will rip right through the sheetmetal! I ended up cutting out a couple of 2mm steel rectangles to go behind the sheetmetal. The washers they include are too thin and just bend.

If I knew what I know now before I started this would have been done a lot quicker
I have a Ford F250 SD 4x4 which requires the two-piece extension adapters. Don't waste your time with the chinsy hardware they supply for attachment to the truck bed. Its very soft Asian steel. Get quality bolts and buy jack nuts with an installation tool to eliminate trying to hold a lock nut where a man's hand doesn't belong. Next, when you have figured out which hole you need in the two-piece adapter for the correct height in your larger truck bed you will have to cut the lower base pieces above that hole but below the unused next one up. This is because the slide-in rack has to rest at that position to allow the lower set screw to make contact with it. Otherwise the rack will be very sloppy and loose. After that is cut on the front and rear adapter base pieces you will have to cut the bottom of the slide-in rack pieces to get the height you want above your cab roof. I'm sure this sounds ridiculous but believe me, if you don't do what I'm trying to explain before you adjust the rack height you will have a shaky, sloppy ladder rack which doesn't slide deep enough into the base to be held by the second set screw. I had to take it apart twice but it is pretty solid now. Hopefully I explained it well enough for you to avoid multiple installations.

Seems sturdy enough
Bought for my 1983 ranger. Took a little monkeying around to get it to sit level and straight on both racks. Seems nice and solid now that it’s on. I modified the removable rack portion to sit lower…I just cut 10” off the bottom so it would sit closer to the cab top and not somewhere off in space. Looks very cool and is very functional! If you know how to use a drill you can get this installed in under an hour.

Keep in mind you have to drill 6 holes in your truck box to install it which isn't very difficult, but be sure you're ok with that. It took me 1 morning to install. The price is very reasonable, product is solid, well designed & did exactly what I expected. Very happy with my purchase

Great product for the price. Strong built and easy to install, only 3 bolts per pedestal. However, drilling of 6 holes of 3/6'' is required. I use it mainly for kayak transport and it works fine.

Defiently something I would recommend any to buy sturdy easy to use and not to complicated to install you will need to drill 6 holes 2 in the floor of the bed and 4 on the running rail I used a 1/2inch metal bit! Defiently the only down side is you might need to buy an extension that is sold separately idk what every truck with need but I have a Ford F-150 xl super cab 2010 and I needed the extension
