Apart from a few differences in the one or two notes here and there, the book has 23 adi taala varnams, 11 ata taala varnams, 5 paada varnams, 3 chaturashra ata taala varnams and 1 navagraha dharu varnam. I believe that covers almost all varnams that students would be taught at beginner level. This author's books are to the point and notation is easy to read and remember. There's enough gaps in between lines to write our own interpretations/notes specific to an instrument or style. The book is well organized and printed well..will highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn carnatic from a guru and doesn't want to write down notes.... Note: This is only an auxiliary helping guide of notes. The way to play gamakas cannot be described in written format because of the complexities of Indian classical music.
