Intuitive and a good way to track your progress
As someone who spends a lot of time working out I decided that I should be more informed about the way my body changes and adapts to the different routines/diets I try, thus I decided to invest in a smart scale. The unboxing and setting up experience is quite simple and there are instructions or youtube videos should you struggle at any point. An important part to take note of is that the scale does not come with any BATTERIES so you will need to buy or use 4 AAA batteries in order to power it up. Setting it up is simple all you have to do is download the mi fit app from the appstore or google play. Making sure your location services and bluetooth are enabled, click on add a device and select the scale category. Once you select your model simply step on the scale to finish pairing. Measuring yourself is pretty simple, just place your bare feet (skin to metal circles) on the scale and wait until there are 5 bars under the weight measurement. The app will provide you with a lot of useful measurements to track your progress after each weigh in, such as a Body score, Body fat %, BMI, Basal metabolism, Bone mass, Protein %, Visceral Fat %, Muscle mass, Water and Weight. While I can't guarantee the accuracy of these results as they heavily depend on the time of day you measure yourself at and what you did beforehand, they are a good way to measure progress. Even if they're not 100% accurate or as accurate as a DEXA scan they provide enough details to visualise a trend in body fat decrease or muscle mass increase. My overall verdict: This is a good and easy to use smart scale, pairing it up with a Xiaomi smart band or smart watch will increase the amounts of data points you will have for each day and they all connect to the same app.

Great value and Accurate
Seems to work for me - what you can't measure you can't improve and all that. I learned stuff that was not picked up by the NHS Health Check. So for not much more than a standard set of scales you get a whole load of useful data that helped me to take ongoing action to keep to a more healthy lifestyle - how long that will last who knows.

I recommend
great scale, super easy to use, but for some reason every time I step first it adds extra 1.7kg, when I step away it shows +1.7... and than I have to wayt when it goes off and step again to see true weight. Otherwhise it works great, and very accurate, as when I been not excercising for a while, my age went up :)

Very good smart scale
Purchased this direct from Amazon. It is a bit expensive compared to normal scales, but this is a "smart" scale. It is therefore able to give more insights than just my weight. There are 12 other measurements ranging from body fat to bone mass. These seem to be within tolerance. For example, body fat - having measured this with a set of calipers and then used the scales, the scales add on 7% body fat vs the calipers. This is OK for me (and the app states I'm within healthy limits). However, I can see how this could be an issue if you're suddenly stated to be over the healthy limit when you're not. In which case, you could do what I did and invest in a cheap caliper so you have a benchmark. The scale itself is very well built and study. I don't worry about it smashing or cracking. Looks neat too. In terms of the App, if you use any other Xiaomi health products (such as fitness bands) then you will be familiar with it. It's basic but it does the job well - summarising the different measurements in a list form (with drop downs for further information if needed). It will then log off of these stats for comparison - day to day, month to month. I'd recommend this scale overall. If you found this help, please click so below to say. Thanks.

If you've come this far just buy them.
If you are reading these reviews it means you are considering these scales. I can wholeheartedly say that you have found what you are looking for. I ordered these scales because we needed to replace our old set. As I have an amazfit watch and these sync to the same app I thought that for the same price as some "traditional scales" these would be worth a punt, maybe they'd even be a bit of fun. My wife wasn't against the idea but didn't sound convinced that they would be much better than a normal set of scales. The scales were delivered on a day that was working from the office and I was expecting my first job, when I got home, to be setting them up. After all I was the one with the Amazfit app. In fact they were so easy to set up and the instructions were that clear that by the time I got home, my wife (who was working at home) had downloaded the Mifit app and set them up. As easy as they were to set up I'd say they are even easier to use, maybe even easier to use than traditional scales, you don't even need to look down to read them. Measurements are sent straight to the app on your phone and plotted straight onto a graph. I know there are people out there who will agree that it's great to see a trend on a graph. The body composition stuff is really interesting too. Just remember to take your socks off if you want your body composition measured. TLDR: For something the same price as scales that just weigh you, this bit of kit is outstanding.

Terrible software
I have no idea how the product is because I have spent and hour trying to get to use it!!! I have seen primary school projects with better designed software. It’s absolutely useless. I worked in the software industry for 10 years and have never seen anything so poorly designed to do a simple thing. Create an account and connect phone to bluetooth is about as basic as you can get. This is so poorly executed by this company it’s just laughable. There is really nothing they have got right.

nice look, syncs well, doesn't come with batteries, not sure about body stats
Make sure to buy some AAA batteries as this does not come with any. The app is a bit tricky and is not the same app as the rest - Mi Fit and Zepp Life both track all health data, however only Zepp Life connects to the scale, and only Mi Fit connects to other fitness apps so this has meant I have to have about 5 apps just to get all my data for the main platform I am using for my personal trainer. I always bring my phone to the scale as the data doesn't always save, and it can appear to be loading so might not be able to connect to the phone unless its close. The data that comes from this appears to be averages and made up as my watch is connected to the Mi Fit app so the only data that Zepp Life has to come up with all these body stats is the scale itself (I haven't given any diet, workout, body measurement info) so not sure I trust it for its main USP, but at least it works as a normal scale and has the app tracking.
