I turned to SAMe after hearing about it in my brain certification course from Dr. Amen. He mentioned it was a good go-to for natural pain management and mood issues. Aparently, mood issues are especially helped by SAMe if you have increased activity in the Cingulate Gyrus. if you have no overactivity in the Cingulate Gyrus, 5HTP is typically a better option. Some symptoms of overactive Cingulate Gyrus include: worry, holding grudges, obsessive thinking, compulsions, and having an oppositional and argumentative nature.I have a background of chronic pain which only worsened after I contracted COVID. I had moments after COVID where I could barely lift my arms because the pain was so pronounced. Also, I could barely walk the yard with my toddler who needed me to be active. On top of the pain, I've suffered from Major Depressive Disorder ranging from moderate to severe. After taking this SAMe along with Curcumin and fish oils, I've been able to walk without a severe ache in my muscles and joints, and lifting my once very achy arms is no longer a major issue for me. I've also come away from the very dark depressive moods I once had. I'm not pain-free or depression-free yet, but these three supplements together were major game changers for me.
