We've been adding some lights to scalextric cars and the capacitors I'd bought just weren't performing particularly well. That's where these trays of components really come into their own - you're going to pay over the odds for the contents, but to have a whole box of different value capacitors on the shelf and ready to go is just ideal for the home tinkerer. It's definitely cheaper to buy the parts you need if you're replacing capacitors like for like, but there is always a place for this sort of box in my shed!
