Excellent Book
Excellent book for revision or if you don't know anything about algebra. I got this for my husband, who has suffered a stroke, and he is loving it.

Wonderful
Very good, it lays out the basic lessons and gives examples and answers in chapter, followed by a review.Good for some one who wants to get a basic and full set of lessons....its pretty clearly explained so that a person who knows nothing could do the lesson but i would suggest that the student or the study leader watch a You Tube vid On the chapter subejct if your doing this at home.I highly recomend this book.

Good graphics and explanations, but what about PEMDAS?
I use this edition for math tutoring for High School students. In Chapter 1, after we had just discussed PEMDAS, the student and I found an error that did not use order of operations correctly. It didn't impact the answer but it's important that when you're teaching the basics that the rules are followed consistently. I ended up talking to the student about why it didn't impact the answer but that we need to still use proper order of operations.Aside from that, the graphics are very helpful - especially for reducing fractions/equivalent fractions. The examples were helpful, I just wish there were more of them. I may get another pre-algebra workbook to go with this as a resource. All in all, it's a good book to have in your math arsenal. I would still pair it with another workbook and keep an eye out to make sure problems are solved in a teachable way.

Excellent book for my teenager.
My 13 year old daughter is in a Math Honors class and uses this book at home to review what she learned in class and to stay ahead of her course.

E-Z Pre-Algebra
They work backwards, they start out in the beginning by asking you to already know how to do certain functions, and then they go over how to do them in the chapters after. I was using it to homeschool and was supplementing it with videos, but it was hard to work with. If you know algebra, or have just taken the class, it is a good brush up. I haven't done algebra in about 15 years, so I had to look things up in order to know how to even start in the beginning of the book much less help my son. I loved Math Doesn't Suck, which I used with my daughter. I should have just had my son do it with her even though it was girly. We are now just using a college algebra book.
