Easter Ideals 2013 Paperback – February 1, 2013

To anyone unfamiliar with Ideals issues, they all deserve five stars. They are all beautiful anthologies of poems, essays, quotations, and often recipes, songs, and Bible verses, combined with spectacular colored pictures. I have been reading Ideals for more than fifty years, and it is only when I compare the issues to each other that I can give some four stars and some five. The pictures are always lovely, and my favorites here show fields of daffodils, a child looking at crocuses, flowering trees, and Easter eggs. As a group, I felt that the poems in this issue were a little below par for Ideals; hence the four stars. But I especially liked "Spring" by Celia Thaxter and a story about a lost dog. I would have no problem recommending any Ideals issue. You can enjoy it by just looking at the pictures or you can read it from cover to cover, and you're bound to find plenty of things to love.

I have been buying the 'ideals' book for many years from Books a Million. Now I find it far more convenient to order from Amazon, and have it delivered in a couple of days. The book is filled with so many different types of articles, recipes and it is also seasonal. Ideals makes a wonderful gift, and also looks nice on a coffee table, for all to enjoy!

IDEALS always is as near perfect as any publication can be, and I have loved it for fifty years. I was unhappy when, for several years, it disappeared, and was elated when it became available again. The photography always is good,and the Spring issues always make me want to imitate that beauty in my own garden. Also, the issues have wonderful devotional reading materials.

I have collected Ideals for years. I once was able to get them by subscription via USPS but now I must either be at the local bookstore the day they arrive or catch them on Amazon. I love the pictures but especially the poetry. I only wish they could go back to subscriptions as I love Ideals.

I can't believe I missed ordering this in the spring! I only wish Ideals had issues for all major and minor holidays like they use to have! I can't believe that they didn't have a Thanksgiving 2013! Ideals is a treasure that will be greatly missed if they ever stoppublishing them!

I have my Mother and three other widows that I adore. Anytime, Ideals is published, I get each of them one. They seem to truly enjoy the books. They are all in their '90's' I also take them out to lunch to first Tuesday after Mother's Day. They are adorable...

Ordered for 92 year old mother with alzheimer's--she loves to look at pretty pictures and always had these around the house when I was growing up. Hate to hear they won't be published anymore.
