Excellent tool for guiding cutting carbon tube cuts
If you are only going to cut a carbon stem once, this may be overkill. However, if you will cut several, and want a tool that will last forever, and provides accurate cuts, this is it. This SG-8 version is specifically designed with the Park Tool carbon blade in mind. That blade does not have teeth per se. Instead, it uses a specific edge that resembles a thick crusting. This crusting cuts very cleanly though the carbon fiber and leaves no burs. The crusty edge is also thicker than the blade itself. Consequently, the spacer used to guide the blade is wider on the SG-8 version to accommodate that wider crusty edge. If you will use a standard 32-tooth hacksaw blade, you want the SG-6 version instead. The clamping mechanism works great. In effect, you don't need much pressure at all to hold the fork firmly in place. The metal lip at the bottom of the silver plate is used as the point where you clamp the unit in a vice. This makes for a very stable platform. In moments, you will have a clean and square cut. The only challenge I had was in seeing the pencil marks on the carbon fiber stem. I tried using a silver marker, but that too was very difficult to see accurately when the stem was clamped. Eventually, using a flashlight and sliding the stem in and out slowly, I zeroed in on the spot and was able to align it fairly accurately. That said, my cut was actually about .75-1 mm off. Fortunately, I marked my cut to leave 2mm beneath the head stem cap, so I was left with 1.25-1mm of space which is still sufficient. A better method, in hindsight, would have been to use masking tape at the cutting edge. That would have been much more visible. This is a quality tool that will outlive me, and does exactly what it is designed to do - provide very accurate, square cuts in tubing.

Works great with carbon and easaily turns into an "SG-6" for metal steerer tubes
I wasn't sure which Park Tool saw guide to buy because I cut both carbon and metal steerer tubes. I really didn't want to spend double to get both tools. It turns out the design is really simple and there is a metal plate held in by two screws which spaces the saw guide about 2.6mm which is the width of a carbide hack saw blade. So with some 1mm thick washers I was able to convert this tool to an "SG-6" really easily. Just remove the two allen screws and put in 1mm washers IN PLACE (the included thicker plate is in the spot you'd put these int he picture I posted) of the provided spacer plate to cut alloy / steel steerer tubes. You can keep the 1mm washers with the tool for convenience.

Works great
I bought it to slam the steam of my Cervelo TT bike; however, I ended up using to cut carbon aero bars and such.. highly recommended if you are a bit OCD like me and like straight lines.

Make sure to order this one for carbon forks.
Made cutting down the fork simple. You'll also need an abrasive blade for carbon which is why you need this wider guide.

Worked out fine.
Bought one for cutting the carbon steerer tube on my fork. Used Park Tool's specific carbon-cutting blade with it. Worked out fine.
