Took my Herman Miller Aeron chair to the next level - I now have Tilt lock and forward Tilt!!
With the demand of office chairs soaring and the difficulty of purchasing one quickly from Herman Miller, I decided to start looking for a temporary chair on Craigslist while my new Aeron was being built (8 week estimate). I was fortunate enough to find one locally on Craigslist for $170; however the gas cylinder was tired, it was missing the lumbar support, and it didn't have the tilt lock or forward tilt options. While viewing chair parts, I stumbled across this listing and decided to purchase for $60 hoping that it would add both forward tilt and tilt lock functionality to my chair.Guess what? It did! Fairly simple install and included the cables, paddles, and the gear and tilt lock nylon/plastic pieces that were needed for the installation. The only tools I needed were a 6mm Hex wrench Key, a flat head screw driver, and a Phillips head screwdriver. Total install took 10 minutes and I'm back in business. I now have a fully optioned classic Aeron. On a side note: I was able to purchase the Lumbar support pad and a replacement gas cylinder on Amazon as well. Once everything is said and done, I'll have an out of pocket cost $300 for a fully optioned B sized Aeron that swivels, lifts, and adjust as well as any new/lightly used chair. Definitely worth it!*Disclaimer: Be sure to pop open your chair/tilt mechanism to confirm that your chair is able to take these parts.YouTube is a great resource for this. I would assume that they're all built the same but disabled from the factory for those who don't purchase the extra options, but don't quote me on that!*

Cheap and works great
Found a video on youtube on how to install the front tilt and had it installed in about an hour (kind of went slow to be careful and also clean the chair as I took it apart). Install was pretty straight forward and am super happy with the front tilt feature!I have a old classic Aeron that I bought used. It was barebones when I bought it, but this adds one of the best features of the fully-loaded Aerons and am just disappointed I didn't do this sooner!

Easy install for cables only
The cables were easy to install and the plate that the were attached to..But the plastic parts thats another story .I figured it out and make sure you have rubber gloves on because it is greasy. You will need a 6mm Allen a Philips screwdriver and a regular screwdriver and needle nose pliers .I f you have a newer model you may not have to change the plastic parts I had to for the tilt forward only. Still it was worth it my chair leaned back to far now its good.

Works with aeron classic
Needed to use a 6mm hex socket on a socket wrench to be able to remove the hip bolts attaching the seat pan to the frame in order to get access. Was nervous with a number of online sites saying how easy it is to strip the metal threading out of the seat pan, rendering the seat pan useless, but came off easily with the socket wrench. Was too tight to use a simple allen key. The youtube link in the Q&A showed instructions on how to remove the assembly, so you can just work backwards from there to install it. My chair already had the gears so didn't need the gears that came included. Simply inserted the metal wires into the two respective holes, clipped on the plastic end pieces and screwed on the bracket.

Product is fine, seller is not
The product appears to be coming from Herman Miller, but is actually some independent seller who had access some parts. We had issues at the Post Office that couldn't be resolved and he "generously" refunded $4 out of a $73 order. This is the last time I will deal with a seller that isn't actually Amazon.

Great upgrade to my Aeron!
I gave my older Aeron to my son and switched to a refreshed one with like-new mesh. It was great until I realized that the newer one was missing the tilt control levers! I had to change out the front-tilt cam (provided in the kit), which required a little bit of extra work, but the overall installation was fairly easy. Great addition to an Aeron if you didn't already have the fully loaded version.

Worked for a month
It worked perfectly for a month, but the locking mechanism seemed to be slipping. It would engage the tilt limiter, at the desired tilt, but then it'd slip into a different tilt angle. I figured this was just the part getting settled until one day the chair only had two positions: Full recline and semi-recline.Took it all apart to check, and it appears the cable had stretched out, so that when fully engaged, the cable pulled the tilt limit gear about half-way through it's movement.

The parts seem okay. No instructions. Can't get it to work.
I don't know if it's my chair or the fact that I don't have any instructions other than finding youtube videos, but I can't get it to work. The parts move before I put the housing and seat back on, but then not once I actually sit in the chair. Still, it's a net improvement. Without any tilt lock, the chair was bananas. Now tilt lock is stuck in the upright position and forward seat tilt has been released, and it's more usable.Buying a used Aeron was a debacle. I'm probably going to try to sell it and just buy a brand new Steelcase leap.
