You just have to clip off the two little tabs on the latch part for it to fit a JKU, no drilling necessary. Do not over tighten when installing!! Also, I did have an issue with the spring causing the latch to get in the way when closing the hood so i clipped the springs and it’s fine now.

I bought these hood latches for my JK. You will either have to drill out your JK hood latch holes or break the tabs off the latch. I chose to break the tabs off and the latches bolted right on. The hood will sit slightly higher with the no drill method but the hood is secure, no more hood flutter. If the end line of the hood is an issue for you you will have to 'slot' the hood catch upward for adjustability. Overall i am happy with the hood latches, they look cleaner, hood is secured and the price was right compared to other hood latches.

I don't write many reviews, but I figured I'd write one for this item in case it could help someone else out.I installed these latches on my 2011 JKU with no problem at all. I removed the front grill and both headlights. Although it was a bit tricky and I had to twist my arm and body into a pretzel, I was able to manage being able to reach in and attach the nut to the latch bases. Use your factory nuts with the attached washers for those because using the provided lock nuts and separate washers is a major pain. For the hood pieces, I used the lock nuts for those. On my 2011 JKU, I had the trim off the tabs (easy peasy) and they seem to work fine without them.Pros:New latches!No hood flutter!Looks great.Good price for what you get.Cons:You gotta make sure the latches are out of the way when you close your hood (no biggie)They're kind of big in appearance and don't "look" like they are closed all the way (but they are)**BE AWARE: Did I get a used item? They look new but these were shipped to me in a completely OPEN box. No tape whatsoever. ZERO. None of the pieces were wrapped, and everything (except for the nuts/washer) was loose. There were a couple of the tiny metal lock washer things (for lack of better words) floating around in the box that had come off of the latches (they attach to tiny "posts" inside the latch assembly..see photo), so check yours and make sure that they are all present. There should be 4 of them.**I'll update this review only if/when I start noticing any problems with them. Otherwise, they seem pretty great so far.

They worked fine for a year, although the wire part of the latch would always get in the way when you tried to close the hood I had to hold both away at the same time to close, would have been impossible if I had shorter arms. Then just the other day I noticed that the latch was only partly closed and I had to tie wrap it shut.

Nice product but does not fit JK's as stated without modifying.

Liked the looks and feel but they did not fit on my 2011 Wrangler. The part with the latch has two posts along with the bolt to mount it. The posts did not match the factory holes.Also I held the latch in place and found that it created a larger gap between the hood and fender. This large gap seemed unnecessary and looked bad.Bummed out now.

They look ok, rough around the edges but otherwise they look good. Buuuut they open up if you drive more than a few miles and is super sketchy when you see them open on the freeway.

Installed on a 2010 JKSome mentioned the latches will need to be modified to install. I can confirm the two positioning clips will need to be trimmed off at the bottom for JK models.Some reviewers mentioned the spring would try to close before the hood, but I did not find that; they work exactly as they should in my opinion. I’ve had them installed for about a month and have opened the hood many times.These latches are much stronger than OE rubber latch, which is exactly what I was hoping for.Highly recommend!

As others have already said, the product needs to be modified to fit on a JK. Firstly, it is necessary to either cut off the alignment tabs or drill larger holes. Secondly, the spring pushes the latch into a position that prevents the hood from being closed it is therefore necessary to either remove the spring or have someone hold the latches open.

This product work well and holds my hood and eliminate my hood flutter. I had to file the edges of the plastic nubs to round them to fit on my JKU
