It works!
My local supplier was out of stock, so I bought this. The brand I usually use is 1/2 teaspoon per dose. This one is 1/4 teaspoon, so the price works out to be the same. I quit drinking 3 years ago & sometimes I get anxious or stressed out. I used to have a drink to calm down, but that leads to other problems. Kava just takes the edge off so I can calm down.

Better than liquid extract
I've now tried 4 different Kava products. This, a highly concentrated extract, dotcom's Instant, and the noble root (vender names withheld on purpose since they are different). I did my research and all we considered the highest in reviews by previous consumers. At the end of the day I have it narrowed down to 3 products and for 3 different reasons. I like kavadotcom's instant powder the MOST for strength and I love it the lease for flavor, and I love it the MOST for convenience (takes about 3 minutes to make it if you include warming the half cup of water to mix it and the addition of extra's to make it palatable; more on that in a minute). I like the actual noble root next, but that's only flavor and I like it less than the instant based on strength (squeezing the juice out of the powder is a process, the ONLY real way to do it is through the traditional method.....I'll elave that to you and Google to figure out). I'm on the ropes about this powder. It does exactly what it says it will do, but I'm not certain of the cost/benefit. It does kick of the strength when I add it to another kava drink already made, you can feel the back of your tongue go numb and you do get more relaxed (BUT, is it worth it OR would just another cup of instant get you there too?). I'm going to keep experimenting, and I do recommend you try. Post your thoughts and results please. Be thoughtful and provocative in your post, we're all reading them and making big dollar purchases on this tiny product based on it.

Roughly 2/3 of this is just organic rice extract. Far too expensive.
The listing sounds like the extract portion is 33% Kavalactone, but they are actually saying that only 1/3 of the total contents is kava extract. Because of this it is severely overpriced. The quality isn't terrible but it basically just smells like rice extract. Not recommended.

Stimulates rather than relaxes
Clearly contains kavalactones, but does not mellow me out at the recommended dosage. Instead, when I take 3x the recommended dosage sublingually, then I feel a bit lightheaded and get a burst of energy for a couple of hours that keeps me from sleeping. Perhaps in the interest of health it is made from noble kava strains that are high in kavain and low in sedating, double-bonded kavalactones. I eventually used the whole thing, but for the opposite of the intended effect--as an afternoon pick-me-up. While it is pretty good at that, having to use 3-4x the recommended dosage makes this expensive for what it is. I'm sticking to traditionally prepared kava or the aluball with a bunch of chocolate syrup!

Its Good! 10 scoops per-cup
This is good Kava powder. If you don't know already, completely disregard all dosage suggestions and FDA warnings. The FDA tests included the Kava leaf which contains a chemical which is slightly harmful. However, no one uses the leaf. Only cheap crap companies grind up the whole plant. As expected, you want way more then 1/4 teaspoon. That's like telling someone to only drink 1-2 beers a night.Preparation Instructions:1. Fill a glass half full of milk.2. Add about 10 rounded 1/8 teaspoons of Kava CO2 extract3. Mix vary well. Then fill the cup the rest of the way with milk.4. Mix with spoon/chopsitck real fast, and gulp it down.Drink as many cups as you would beer, if not more. Drink at least 2-3 cups in like the first 30mins. With Kava, you have to take a LOT right at first. If you drink is slowly, then your body will have time to compensate and you'll never catch a buzz. Also, actually drinking 1-2 beers before helps a lot with absorption too.

Strong flavor and strong effect
I really like it. Definately have to take more then recommend dose. But just to be safe start our with it cause everyone is different. I mixed it in water and almond milk it didn't mix well but I was also impaitent lol. The milk really helped with the taste. People drink kava for the effect NOT the flavor. Regular kava doesn't have such a strong taste. Anyway, I like it and may buy more.
