Great vegetarian camping meal
Great camping meal. Tastes great, a little spice but very tolerable. Great vegetarian option if you’re skeptical of freeze dried meat. Filling. Will be buying again for my next trip!

Had a descent flavor...
I hiked the Ouachita trail, Section 8, back in early May 2021. Before I left for the trip I ordered a number of dry meals to try out and take with me on this trip. This was one of those meals. I initially had a real concern when I purchased this because I thought the spices would cause diahorrea, which is not good to have on a hiking trip. I am 50+ years old, over 6-foot tall, work out daily, and expend a lot of calories. The meal portions on these meals need to be at least 1.5 to 2.0 servings to make me feel satisfied. I found this meals to be palatable and a good balance of sodium. Some meals over do it on the sodium and I think that may be how they make the meals more palatable. In any event, the meal hydrated very well. I normally heat my water and pour it in the package prior to setting up camp for the night. It is a nice way to let the meal hydrate while I set up my tent and general camp duties before I eat. The meal had a good flavor and I found no pockets of clumps after stirring the meal several times to make sure it was fully hydrated. It was easy to eat and satisfied me nicely, along with my snack afterward. Then I crashed. I had no heartburn from the meal. In all, I would say this was a descent meal to take on your hike.

Tasty
This one used to have a separate pack with the peanuts and I liked that better, but still pretty good for what it is. Rehydrates well. Tastes good and is filling. I'll definitely keep this in the backpacking rotation.

I wouldn't take it on a trail as my main meal
So I bought this wanting to try something different for taking out when I go backpacking. I've been into Curry recently so I figured I'd give this a go. And well... yeah... no. 01. There's heat and that's great, but it feels like the heat is there to hide the lack of actual flavor. It's not bad by any means, it's just... there's heat but it's kind of just heat. I guess if I put something else in this it would be fine but that kind of defeats the purpose. 02. The texture is fine, I mean considering some of the things I have eaten on the trail, this is hardly the most unappealing, it's fine. I think 300ml was too much water. 03. At only 380 calories it's not much bang for the buck. Certainly not for any real hiking. I can see having this for a day hike as a lite lunch with something else to add to it. 04. There are things in this that I can not identify. Something that looked like sliced bell pepper or a pepper of some sort, but when taken out and eaten on it's own, I really can't place what it is. That's really a problem with most of these kinds of meals, so it's not unique to this one just something that kind of stood out. Long and short of it, if this were on sale for like 2 for $10 or $12 I'd buy a few to have in my home emergency food stuff. The calories in this aren't worth it to take backpacking or to leave in the car emergency kit. It simply doesn't have enough calories at this price point to be worth it for me personally. So here is the most important thing though - is it edible? Yes, Absolutely. There's nothing at all wrong with it as far as if I could eat it, but if I was served this at a restaurant I'd likely never go back to that restaurant again, or at the very least never order this there again. I am looking forward to trying out some of their other meals, I'm hoping that in this particular case that it's more my palette than the meal itself.

Very tasty
Good To-Go’s pasta marinara is my all-time favorite dehydrated backpacking meal. Classic comfort food. And as a person who can’t eat wheat I so appreciate that it is made with rice pasta! One serving contains 12 grams of protein, which is more than one might expect considering the ingredient list, but also might not be enough on days when you are expending a lot of energy. So definitely take that into account (I like to supplement with a stick of jerky or a couple handfuls of nuts).

Taste bad
Followed all the instructions and was one of the worst tasting pack meals I have had. It was a waste of money and I had to come up with an alternative. Have had other meals from this company but will not by this one again
