just what i was looking for! DOES NOT SOUND LIKE A FART CAN
unlike most people that buy these that either put them on mustangs or trucks, i decided to put it on a hatchback. a 2 liter 4 cylinder DOHC. from idle the car isnt very loud at all. you can barely hear it in the cab with the ac and radio off. outside theres a bit of a rumble but its nothing big. give it a little gas though. and this thing comes to life. at 2000 rpms i could hear it clearly over my radio and ac. i wasnt blasting music or anything but it was still medium volume. at full throttle youre not going to be able to cover the sound no matter how loud your radio is. its a very pleasing rumbling sound. however, it is not defeaning. even while driving around you, so long as you granny shift it, you can still have a conversation with people in the car just fine. wide open throttle youll have to raise your voice a tad. it has a very nice deep rumbling tone to it. even on a 4 cyl like mine. and i dont know if this is placebo but i have noticed she pulls a little bit harder (with the AC OFF) now if you dont want to be hearing it all the time you might be glad to know that you cant hear it at all while coasting. assuming youre driving a stick shift. as soon as you take it out of gear its "shuts off" and you cant hear it what so ever. SOMETHINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE BUYING! you might need an adapter pipe to get this on there.its a 2.5 inch inlet so most cars are not going to be able to fit this from factory so youll have to get an adapter. they are extremely cheap, costing around 3 or 4 bucks at autozone. it doesnt have to be an exact measure for the adapter either. i have a 1 3/4 inch pipe and i got a 1 7/8th to 2 and 1/4 inch adapter and the guy at the shop said that was fine that they could just stretch the adapter a little bit and make it fit. YOU WILL BE CUTTING OFF YOUR OLD MUFFLER. thats one of the things my friends askme now that i have this (they like the sound) is if i had to have my old muffler cut off. and yeah. they are going to cut it off so they can weld the new one on. be ready to buy some exhaust hangers. again these arent expensive at all. like 10 to 15 bucks. maybe less. most mufflers have hangers on em to hold them in place. luckily the guy at the shop was able to find a couple of some U shaped steel bolt thing and he used that as a hanger and welded it on. or they could cut the hangers off of your old muffler and use them instead. however, in the case they cannot do these 2 things its best to be ready and have already bought a pair. if they dont use it you can always return them. this product is good quality and makes driving extremely fun. one of the funnest things is seeing peoples faces as they dont expect a car like mine to sound like that. shifting is incredibly satisfying and i find myself itching for any chance to downshift. it very much gives your car a "sleeper" vibe to it. which is exactly what im modding this car to be , but now it also sounds the part. best thing is that the exhaust isnt very showy or overly large. it was actually smaller than my stock exhaust. and a bit lighter surprisingly. this one weighs like 10 to 15 pounds. my old one weighed around 30! (WEIGHT REDUCTION!) it doesnt try to show boat unlike the huge shiny fart cans you see on some cheap hondas. and it sounds. soooo nice. definitely worth the money. sounds great on almost any vehicle from 4 cyl to 6 to the v8. cannot go wrong.

Great addition if you want a more aggressive sound.
Had this welded on to my 2008 Jeep Commander. Seems very small to the monster size of the stock muffler. If you have been looking into upgrading your muffler and have your eye on the super 44 then you already know most of its pros and cons. Here is my opinion. This muffler gives off a fantastic deep rumble, especially for my V8 engine. It has also increased my MPG by about 2. The things I was worried about when I was researching this was exactly how loud it would be. First of all you will not be "waking the neighbors" as some people claim, unless you're sitting in your driveway revving the engine. Speeds up to 15-20 mph give you that nice deep rumble, once you hit 35-50 it will level out. Once you get on the highway it can get a little loud and this is where I would like to go into detail. Most people complain at "highway speeds" this muffler is too loud. Getting on the highway, and getting up to those speeds you will really hear this muffler at work, But not loud enough to where your screaming to talk to the other people in the car or you can't even hear the music in your car. It's not that obnoxious or loud. Once you level out around 70 it quits down a bit but of course you will still notice you are not using a stock muffler. When you're going uphill on a highway is when it gets the loudest, but again IMO it's very tolerable. If you wanted silence in the first place you wouldn't be looking into replacing your muffler with a super 44 :) I did not get any kind of drone in my vehicle but this can vary depending on the vehicle. All in all I am very happy with it. Although it's hard to drive with fuel efficiency in mind when all you want to do is slam on the gas pedal to hear this thing roar.

difference is night and day, just got done test driving for my truck its 2.5" in 2.5 out pretty simple wanted a both on kit but i wasnt dumping that money into the same thing i just did for 100 total. the truck is super loud and deep going lightly on the pedal thru gears it gets worse once you maintain speed its signifigantly quiets down, and when your on it sounds very agressive ...beautiful! now i dont have to pound the gas to listen to the k&n screem which is what i wanted bc i cant help but do it to hear the sound, its very deep in the cab aswell and has a real nice resonance, not a crackle and no back fire just a real smooth sound when u smack the gas quick. over all im very pleased with the buy ...just hope im not near a cop having a bad day at the red light haha Things you will need other then your input/output sizes, are 2 adapters a sleeve atleast for my app. beacause this muffler is 21" lenght and stock was 25" plus the inch i left on enableingme to reuse all stock hangers with perfect clearance.but needed to fill an 8" gap aprox. between the muffler and tail piece i recommend welding all seams i dont like clamps but thats just me i also sprayed all weld areas and exsposed muffler immediately after cooling time with high temp and galvinizer to prevent any rust issues after all its my work truck and its new york so theres plenty of salt which leads me to my next observation this muffler is solid with all welded seams it would be hard to damage this thing unless you seriously bottom out violently.its also half the weight of my stock muffler so i figure less stress on the pipes or less net weight if thats your thing.. As for power that to is noticable i tap my gas and im hitting 30mph with no effort, the torqe is also noticable im estimating 25-40 hp but i also have a stage 3 cold air intake to match. hope this help people like me that need a little more info ..good luck

THIS IS MY "GO TO" FLOWMASTER MUFFLER, DEEP TONE, THICKER CASE FOR LOWER IN CAR DECIBELS
Want deep rich engine sound but less in car volume? This is my answer as to "which muffler to purchase", providing that you like the basic "sound" of Flowmasters. Taste is up to the individual! Do your homework! Decide what you want out of your muffler experience. I have heard that some people say that the resonance of Flowmasters makes their hearing aids freak out. The Super 44 muffler is for Flowmaster fans who love that deep "Flows" tone but now need a little less volume inside the car. The Super 44 has a thicker case to achieve this. Flowmaster Mufflers are designed by acoustic engineers, and I really love that distinct "Flowmaster effect" that really brings out the rich exhaust "voice" of my car's engine! I put these on my 1976 Dodge D100 short bed pickup, smallblock V8 engine, drove to LA from northern California. I could hear the radio clearly (news radio, some music- just 8 inch door speakers, no amp). Yes I could still hear Flowmasters when I was accelerating, but didn't drone, or drown out anything. Outside exhaust sound is deep, but volume not disturbing to neighbors. On my Chevelle I also chose Super 44's, but added short glasspacks (Cherry Bombs) for resonators after mufflers. Many 1960's and 1970's cars came from the factory with resonators after the mufflers. I think that people who complain that Flowmasters are too loud don't know that Flowmaster makes more than one model of muffler! Super 44's deliver the deepest (not "loudest") Flowmaster tone! I love these mufflers!

Turn's your girl Jeep into a man Jeep !
Bought this for my Manual Transmission 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade... Total project was about $300.00 ... was turned down by two local muffler shops... due to brake lines on the driver side rear axle... had to take to a local welder, and talk him into running both pipes on the passenger side... He said it was a tough job... but I think that's just because they did it right... Less than 6hrs had my Jeep back... You can't tell from the audio but idle makes a huge difference... Sounds like a man's truck... Sound's great taking off from a traffic light, definitely bass in the exhaust now... but I can still drive up late to church on Sunday and not be embarrassed by how loud it is... Really man's-up my girl Jeep... But arn't they all girl jeeps lately!!! Haha - my first impression is... it's well worth the money for the total project... ( Oh, one more thing, it's not loud inside the Jeep, researched several posts before I bought this and it was mentioned some sort of an exhaust whine... at cruising speeds, and they couldn't hear their radio... Maybe they have automatic's ... maybe they didn't pay to have it installed professionally... With a stick I just shift up... the little bit of noise on the high side of the gear is gone... Took it on the highway 6th gear... Not bad at all... I Could hear my radio at the lowest volume setting the whole time... ) - Buy this for your Girl Jeep ! - make it a Man Jeep !

2016 Ford F-150
Original 2019 Review: Fits great and sounds even better! Makes my 2.7L V6 truck actually have a deep and semi-aggressive tone to sound like an actual truck If I had the 5.0 V8 then the sound would be fully aggressive. Anyways I’m happy. Installation went easy, just had to replace the flex pipe as well when removing the stock muffler. Update 2020: Still a good product but very prone to rust. Now I usually wash my car every time it gets dirty and do an under carriage flush too. Especially when it snows and with salt. But still would have hoped it last longer then what it did. Doing a z-bar coat would help with the rust issue but still expected better quality up front. Still overall like having it so take it or leave it.

Chug chug chug.
Put these on my ‘66 Chevy truck with an 350 SB and love them. That chuggy flowmaster sound I wanted now turns heads every time I drive this thing.

Yup... You've heard it all and so have I. Flowmaster this Flowmaster that. Flowmaster is unoriginal and run its course. Uuuuhhhhhh, hardly!!! I'm car enthusiast but also an exhaust enthusiast and I'm never satisfied. I've owned seven 5.0 Mustangs to date and I've always loved the mellow chambered sound on these cars. I currently have 1.3/4 headers, OR/H pipe, into new Super 44 and stainless LX tails (yes, on a GT). These make the "original" 40 Series sound just good. Not only do you get Flowmaster's signature hum but you also get a muscular report under acceleration. To be more detailed, it's almost half Flowmaster and half glass pack but it's neither. I would highly recommend these if you have a Fox body 5.0. If you've been looking to change your current Flowmaster mufflers and want something louder (not obnoxious) or you are thinking about a change to chambered, this is where your search ends!!! My experience is your guide: 1988 5.0, OR/X with 40s: DECENT, OR/X with Magnapacks: Excellent but without that signature hum, ditched the X for an H (H with chambered and X for non-chambered--remember that), H pipe with Magnapacks: Excellent and raspy/throaty, H with Spintech Pro 9000: Awful and removed 2 days later, H with 40s (came back to them as you can see), H+40s+Mac Pro Chamber: Decent but quite, NOW: 2.5" OR/H, Super 44s, LX tails out the back: Jackpot!! To sum this up, if you have a Mustang or any V8 where true dual exhaust pipes are present (or could be), Super 44s are dynamite!!!! My brother owns an 06 Chrysler 300C, cats, no resonators Super 44s and stock tails and it sounds Excellent. You just can't go wrong. I hope I've given some guidance as if you're like me and are never satisfied with your exhaust note, THIS is what you want. Hope this helps!
