It does swivel as described!
This was a gift for my son who wanted to turn Tv sideways to view laying down! It works as expected. To make sure it doesn’t get swiveled slightly since there is no lock he just places an item under it.

TV doesn't stay in place
The idea behind this mount is solid, but the execution is incredibly disappointing. The spring loaded ball that is supposed to snap the TV into place at 90 degree increments is sized too small for the detents, and so there's a huge amount of play and in some situations the ball actually seems to be trying to push the TV out of being level. Only purchase this product if you constant want your TV to be at an angle that's about 5-10 degrees off of level.

Almost too easy
I was hesitant to buy this at first because of the price. I thought it was one of those "too good to be true" situations. I am happy to say I was wrong... This wall mount is great! It was super easy to install, all required hardware was provided. I installed it and mounted the TV in under an hour. I love the rotating feature which is really what I was going after. Super sturdy too. Very happy with this wall-mount.

You spin me right round baby right round
I had a unique requirement. I needed amount that would allow me to spin a full size TV to switch between horizontal and vertical orientations for emulated arcade games. This mount definitely enabled that. My only problem is the rotation mechanism doesn't have enough friction in it, so it sometimes doesn't want to stay perfectly aligned where I spin it. This is partially influenced by the weight of the cords hanging from the TV and might be alleviated by finding a way to mount your cables so they aren't hanging free. There are four stop points built into the mount, but they are not sufficiently strong to hold the TV at the right angle in my use. The built in bubble level is nice for making sure you're properly aligned, but it isn't entirely accurate as the stop points snap into place while the TV is still off angle. Still, though, I love that this mount has allowed me to implement my idea.

doesn't lock into vertical position, can miss when dropping TV into place, very sturdy-easy install
This mount is a sturdy and so close to great but is not perfect. I just installed 3 side by side for a feature in a lobby. The structure of the mount is very sturdy and goes together fairly easily. There are 2 major flaws: if you want to mount the TV vertically the bracket that goes on the back of the TV is not perfectly centered, and TV's aren't perfectly balanced so they want to lean to one side. The locking mechanism to hole the TV at 90 is not strong enough, even for a very light 43" TV so I ended up having to jam a piece of foam up between the bracket and the wall to hold it all in place. Not Ideal. Second, inside the wall bracket is a pocket for the mounting disc to slide into. The pocket is lined with a plastic sleeve of sorts that helps keep tension on the mounting disc. If not careful when sliding the TV into place, you can miss the proper slot and the TV will not slide down into its proper place. Once we figured that out we were able to make sure we hit it or lift the TV and try to re-seat it until you hit the proper position. Overall this is one of the sturdiest TV mounts I've ever used and it holds the TV fairly close to the wall, there is a 3 inch gap at most. I want to love it, but since I can't get the TV to stay perfectly vertical I can only like it.

Can work for some smaller VESA spacings
I gave this five stars because it worked well for me. However, there was some DIY required. Your circumstances may be entirely different. I had to make some mods, but this adapter works great for me on a 32" smart TV I'm using as a second monitor for my laptop. The horizontal bar that holds the vertical bars can be used standalone for a 200 x 100 pattern. Just drill the holes in the bar 200 mm wide, 100 mm high, and properly centered. You can then support a small TV with a 200 x 100 pattern. As others have said, there is a lot of play in the 90-degree "locks." But you can manage this without adding friction for a small, light display. For larger or unbalanced displays, you should be able to create friction with wedges. Or you can create "struts" to hold your unit in place. I attached this mount to a rolling floor stand rather than a wall. This required drilling a hole in the floor stand's adapter. But with the right hardware (#10 machine screws and bolts and 1/4" washers), the setup gives me a monitor that is easy to move around the room and rotate to any viewing angle, landscape, portrait, or in between. You may have to be inventive in order to make some configurations work, and you may want to buy some extra drill bits for drilling through the iron. But this was the only solution I could find to get what I needed, and it works nicely for me.

Perfect for my 65" The Frame television by Samsung
I recently bought the 65" The Frame TV by Samsung and I wanted to be able to rotate it 90 degrees for a portrait view when I have certain artwork displayed. This mount accomplished that perfectly. My television only sticks out 2 1/8" (technically 2 3/8" with a 1/4" plywood backing) from the wall with this mount which is impressive. I would definitely prefer it to be down to under 1" but I'm still happy. I can easily rotate the television 90 degrees and it stays exactly where I placed it. The mount moves freely enough to rotate the TV but then has enough friction to prevent the TV from rotating on it's own due to gravity.

Does not hold larger displays at right angles.
This stand is not effective at securing larger displays at right angles, I tried with a 55" screen. I called their customer support line and their rep confirmed that other customers have complained about the same. Mount-It appears to have another rotating mount with a more aggressive locking mechanism for similar cost. They would not replace mine with the other product (I asked). So I've decided to go with a different brand with a dedicated vertical mount. Very disappointed to now need to address the mounting holes from this product and start anew.

Seems solid. TV has not fallen off wall yet. Relatively straightforward to install. And the vertical mode is handy for when I use my TV as a computer monitor to scroll long documents.

I wanted a bracket for my Philips BDL4230E 42 inch which weighs just under 20kg. This is well made and solid, as are the screws and fittings that come with it. What I like about this is that it comes with everything you need to install it. I was going into a brick wall, and made a right mess of on of the holes because the plaster and brick was soft, the plate covered this up and it's solid as a rock. The only problem I had was with the little plastic grommet which fits in the slot to take the display and is supposed to lock it at 45 deg each time. After many attempts at lifting this 20kg beast above head height to slot in correctly and failing, I gave up and just left the thing out, it stays in position fine and rotates freely if needed. I would recommend this item and would also recommend getting somebody to help with lifting the display onto the bracket.
