It’s a good file for sharpening old saws.
This file cuts well but is not aggressive so it doesn’t eat large amounts of metal on each pass which would result in damaging the teeth. The taper makes it easy to get into my finer tooth crosscut saws.

Good Basic Pruning Saw File
Economical knife file did a nice job on my pruning saw. Just what I was looking for.

Specialized purpose file
Nice file, but specialized purpose file. I bought for hand sharpening a pruning saw teeth as I saw on a youtube, but later found a round file worked better... so still not used this file. Be sure it's the correct type file.

Perfect for Japanese saws
So far this has held up well and done a good job sharpening my Japanese saws. The only issue I’ve had is the file coming out of the handle, a drop of super glue solved that and I have not had any issues since.

Found out I can over-sharpen a brushing saw. With ANY downward force, I cannot pull the saw through a branch. I may need to dig some roots still in the dirt!

File was a bit coarser than i wanted but will do.. The packaging it came in had a terrible smell like super charged moth balls. I can still smell it a week later in my basement.
