Nice little product, useing it for my tascam DP-008EX. Keeps my unit dust free and safe when not in use allows you to customize the foam inside to fit your product the way you want.

You will have to cut the foam. The foam can be completely removed in order to cut out the sections. I used special retractable razor blade tool that has a blade that can extend out to 3 inches. This helped to make smooth cuts. You need a SHARP blade. I used masking tape to outline the area I wanted to remove. The casing is plastic so if you run over it with a car it will get crushed. However it offers decent protection for transporting.

It usually takes several attempts to turn on. I get error messages a lot. Just when I give up, it turns on. Once on it seems to run well and have not experienced any issues. This size is great and the quality of the recording is great. Actually I was surprised how well it sounds and records.Very inexpensive.

I bought this for my Tascam DP006 Recorder. I removed enough foam to store the Recorder, the Tascam Power supply and the USB cord to download to the computer. Perfect.

The case is great. My TASCAM DP-008EX fit nicely inside and felt protected although the power supply and accessories are a tight fit. It requires a bit of creativity. No major complaints here though.The foam however is a huge mess! Pulling the “perforated” foam leaves a ragged and messy appearance. I don’t like it. If you have an old school electric knife, these work well at cutting foam.Otherwise find something a little less frustrating than this affordable DIY project.

I needed a small case to store a Tascam GB-10 unit along with the accessories. The pull-away foam padding made this very simple to customize. When I have everything plugged in, I rest the unit in the case to prevent it from falling of the table when the weight of the cords shift. Very happy with this case. Customized my own compartments and it protects the unit just fine when storing it with other gear. It can be locked too, so you can keep your sneaky band-mates from using it.

Originally ordered this to store a set of pet sheers and spare blades, with the long cord (commercial sheers) and the additional items the Hard case was too small. I decided to use it for a cable tester and cable toner. The locks slide away from center and are quite stiff nearly guaranteeing accidentally opening will not occur. Additionally, each slide lock has a hole for a small/medium padlock or other locking device. The padding is adequate to prevent damage of stored items and they are relatively waterproofed. I would not attempt submerging the case, but for rain falling on it lying down flat, I would feel comfortable leaving the items outside for quite sometime. Padding is difficult to pull out with any accuracy as it either comes out all at once or in pieces - it's not quite as nice as the picture shows when purchasing. A razor knife will make things easier. I marked the outline of my devices, then folded the foam at the line and sliced the thickness of foam out of the layers until I had the desired level for my devices. Very thin items will not need any cutting at all. One additional comment, when the case is closed, it becomes more rigid but it can still flex and twist. It's not as rigid as I had hoped but will work very well as long as it never gets melted or distorted from heat.

The case is nice and solid. The handles have tops that slide into place to lock the case (with holes for twist-ties if you're worried it might open otherwise). The inner-foam is perforated, I suggest gouging in with your finger toward the middle of a big area where you want the 8-track to fit- and gently pull and you'll get the hang of it. Keep in mind spacing for any areas you might use for adapters or chords, it might get a little thin around the edges... I'm happy with mine, worked out (as seen) and it's great for travel.
