well made and solid for digging

I bought this for my 85 year-old father-in-law who has always had a huge vegetable garden and was using a very old worn down hoe to furrow between rows of his vegetable plantings. The old hoe bade had to be worn out from years of file sharpening to less than half it's original size. I asked him if he had a "triangle shaped hoe" for furrowing. He just said he uses the hoe he's always used for that. Well, I taught an old dog a new trick and now he absolutely LOVES this hoe. He can't believe how easy it is to use and how perfectly it makes the furrows.

Good Quality tool

It is a go to tool for some more demanding yard work. It took an effort to sharpen it to a degree. This kind of tool does not need to be really sharp but when it came the edges were pretty much untouched. It works pretty good and after some heavy use the edges are not bending or chipping. Thanks!

The hoe seems very sturdy. It’s a bit heavier than I wanted (not as strong as when I was younger). It could use some cushion on the handle like I’ve seen on other garden tools, so you’ll need gloves. Also, the edge on the business end of the hoe was NOT sharpened. Just a blunt edge so you’ll have to sharpen it to make it easier to do the hoeing.

Super instrument for garden hoeing! Better than a flat edge hoe, cuts deeper under weeds and it's heavier so you just have to guide it like a pendulum, it will do the rest!

Next time I'll stick with tools that have wooden handles. The rubberized end cap is particularly annoying, as it slides off, and the handle itself is too slick.
