LICHAMP Double Fluted Step Drill Bit for Cutting Metal Hole 19 Sizes from 3/16 to 1-3/8 inch, Genuine High Speed Steel

I started a project using the cheaper COMOWARE bit - but it got stuck in the thin material I was working on. The problem was that I had to hand hold the drill for my project while drilling thin aluminum in my trailer. The cheaper bit actually got lodged in the material. So I ordered the LICHAMP Double Fluted Step Drill Bit, What a difference! I could drill holes using my hand drill much faster without fear of getting the bit stuck or buckling the material. Smaller step sizes and a sharper bit made the difference. Under the right circumstances, it actually cuts like butter. If you have a more challenging project you can't go wrong with a bit like this. Recommended!

Been using for trailer rebuild and has gotten a pretty good work out opening up holes in 1/4" solid steel. Glad I got it, has saved the day by letting me open up holes larger than my drill bits go and is working great as a deburring tool. Will definitely buy this again, if it ever wears out! Cool beans!

Very versatile tool for making different size holes in different materials. I used it on wood and aluminum sheets. It is a little tough to figure out what size hole you're making and I found myself checking and rechecking the hole diameter frequently. Also, it is tough to punch a hole of specific diameter in thicker wood. The shape of the head causes the hole to be funnel shape, so if you want a clean hole of uniform diameter through the entire sheet, there is some additional work involved. But it does the job!

I wasn’t sure if this will do the job considering the price but it worked well drilling a 7/8 hole in Corten steel.

The finish and quality of the edges of the step drill are ten times better than the cheap Chinesium bits that you get at HF. Even though this does not have the TiN coating, I am dead sure this will outlast ten of the cheaper bits. It even arrived in a nice protective carrying case, tucked inside a bubble wrapped envelope, inside a second bubble wrapped envelope.

Amazing bit, much better than the Milwaukee! I’ve been turning a chess set using a 3/8” mandrel. Had to step up 34 ebony and flame billet maple pieces to 7/8” so I could safely bore with a forstner bit to accommodate lead weights. This bit has held up beyond expectations! I like that the steps aren’t that far apart, less waste in the hole.

Decided to install a soap pump in my stainless sink but lacked a hole for it. This bit did a great job and left a clean cut. Don’t forget the milling oil to help preserve the bit.
