Make sure the key snaps closed securely!
I bought two of these, and had a local locksmith cut the keys for me at $2 each. The original RAV4 keys didn't have the chip glued in, but instead were inside a compartment, so that was a plus. Generally a good experience. But beware: the manufacturing was poor on one of them -- it didn't snap closed very well, and popped open a couple of days later, spilling all its contents on the floor and losing one of the buttons. The other one is fine. Despite this, I'm ordering another one.

Not perfect, but correctable.
The unlock key it slightly too short, which makes it hard to press. I corrected this by adding a dab of hot glue to the inside, now all buttons work perfectly. Please realize this product only includes the the uncut key, the shell/cover, and the 3 buttons. There is nothing inside the key except a piece of foam. I was able to use my old key's innards--only the buttons were broken over time--I still need to find a place to cut the key itself.

Scion Tc Key fob Replacement
My wife's 2005 Scion TC key broke where the key meets the plastic fob. Since new keys are pretty expensive at the dealership, I looked online for tips to fix the key. Online Scion forums said to buy a key shell and transfer the broken key fob's insides to the new shell. This key worked perfect! I took the new key to get cut at my local NAPA auto parts store and made sure it worked to open the car door. Then I took the electronic button controls from the broken key and put them inside this new key's shell, which would unlock the doors remotely. Here's the only thing that was a bit tricky, the original key has a transponder chip glued inside that allows the car to start for anti-theft purposes, and you have to remove it to put it in the new key shell (there's a little slot for it in the shell). Without it the new key will not be able to start the car. Use a heat gun on low or a hair dryer on high to warm up the plastic area around the chip in the original key fob. Then carefully use a knife to separate the plastic from the chip on all sides. Next with the plastic still warm pry off the side of the plastic fob and carefully pop out the chip with the knife. It took me five minutes to get the chip out. With the chip removed I placed it in the slot in the new key shell, put it all together, and everything works perfect. New keys at the dealership cost somewhere around $200, and then need programming, and this key cost $5 that's a decent savings! As long as you have the old key I highly recommend using this method to replace it.

No Logo, does not open doors or glovebox but does start the car.
Could be better. For some reason, the keys are slightly thicker then the originals. I bought two of these. I had them cut for free by Toyota which gives you a cut from the original master key (not a copy from my old key). The issue is they start the car fine but will not open the doors or the glove box. I transferred the old guts and that works fine. I usually carry the valet key also which will at least allow me entry into the vehicle should the battery die in the key or car, I guess I will just leave the glove box open as this would require me carrying three keys now. I read one person on this thread who filed his down for 30 minutes and got it work. Not sure if this is the way I will go but for the money, you can't go wrong. They have a lighter, cheaper feel and did not come with the Toyota logo. The Logo was the main reason I chose this vender and am disappointed in the bait and switch. I waited about 3 weeks for the keys and could have received soon from other parties that showed the exact key without the logo. Three stars since it works in the ignition and buttons all work flawless.

These are GREAT replacements!
The reviews are what sold me, and I can see why people are happy with these replacements. The original keys for my 2007 RAV4 were beginning to become quite decrepit, and like many of the reviewers did, I too went to my local rip-off Toyota dealer to get a price for a new set.... $285 a piece.... yea NO!!Once they arrived and before assembling the remote portion, I took my keys (ordered two) to be cut at my local large orange box hardware store, and asked if they could run each key through the machine twice for the most accurate cut. Keys worked perfectly in the driver door, glove box, and most importantly IGNITION.These keys arrived disassembled in a sealed bag, with a little patience and a few minutes of trial and error with the formed rubber button backing, everything was in place to accept the transmitter. I would also recommend replacing the button cell battery in the actual transmitter circuit (CR2016 3volt lithium). Once all is assembled, snap the backing on and you're good to go.The back of the key does not have the chrome Toyota logo set in place, but the emblem does come in the key kit along with the precut double sided tape (a bit tricky)Overall, very VERY happy with these.Sorry Toyota. No $570 for you.

Would be great if it fit inside my Scion Tc keyhole. Update: It works after sanding.
My original key has the buttons torn out from use, and i thought this would make a great cheap replacement. I got the key cut at ACE hardware for free, and it turns out the blank key is too thick. I can stick the key in but it doesn't fit quite right. In other words, it doesn't work with my 2005 scion Tc.Although if it did work i could replace the electronics and the immobilizer chip easily into the shell of this key.Update: I got it to work by sanding down the key with my rotary tool. Took 30 minutes but now it works. Inserted the electronics and chip from my old key.
