Visually appealing and helpful
The book appears to be very easy to follow. The colors, the font size, how it is all laid out is very nice. I have used Word a little bit but I have not used the other programs very much or at all such as Excel. I will be going thru each program and using the book like a teacher. I am also viewing the videos that Microsoft has on their website so that I can learn as much as possible. As I do I will update my review of the book.so far I have noticed that the Table of contents is very good. It is laid out in such a way that you can very easily find a topic on just one aspect of a program such as in chapter 5 it starts going thru the various options of Word and it states that on page 68 you can learn how to insert symbols. Now, if you forget how to do that sometime in the future you can easily find the correct page in the table of contents and go right to that page of the book and it will walk you right through the process. I love it when the information is easy to find and easy to understand.I have never purchased a book from the Teach Yourself Visually series before and I look forward to having it take me on the learning journey. It has been a few weeks since my initial review and I have been able to use the book. I started with the chapters on Word. Each topic is in bold and in a colored box so it is easy to find. Then, each step is numbered and it all corresponds to the screen shot so you are able to see exactly what your screen should look like as you do it. There is also a tips section at the end of each topic discussion.Every aspect of Word is covered from changing the font size, to using templates, inserting page numbers, setting margins, etc. If this book does not have the answer there is always Office.com for help.

Great but still could be better.
I bought this book specifically for the instructions about Access as I have never used Access before. Your book is very helpful, but there are a few areas where I could have used more explanations. For example, I would have appreciated a little more information about how to go about the initial "Plan a Database" stage. Just helping me through the thought process would have been a plus. Also, it would help if right at the very beginning you explained about the ID (which is automatically generated) being the "connecter" from one table to another. I also would have appreciated having the information about creating a blank form (which is now under "TIPS" at the end of the Create a Form section) at the beginning. It would have helped me to realize that I should wait to create any form until all my tables were created. That way, the populated form would contain all the fields from all the tables.

TEACH YOURSELF VISUALLY OFFICE 2013
DUE TO WONDERFUL FULL COLOR PAGES I GOT MORE OUT OF THIS BOOK THAN THE 1500 PAGE OFFICE 2013 BIBLE BOOK I HAD PURCHASED EARLIER. IT IS MUCH EASIER TO FOLLOW MS OFFICE 2013 STEPS IF THE PAGES ARE IN FULL COLOR. IT BEATS BLACK & WHITE FORMAT ANY DAY. THOUGH IT DOES NOT HAVE THE COMPREHENSIVENESS OF A 1500 PAGE BOOK IT IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TO GET A BEGINNER/INTERMEDITE USER WELL ON HIS/HER WAY.I HAVE HAD MS OFFICE TRAINING WITH OTHER EDITIONS. I'M AN INTERMEDIATE LEVEL USER AND I FOUND THIS BOOK TO BE VERY HELPFUL. ALL "TEACH YOURSELF" BOOKS ARE MUCH BETTER AT PRESENTATION THAN "BOOKS FOR DUMMIES", "IDIOT'S GUIDE TO" OR THE "? DeMYSTIFIED" SERIES. THANK YOU CharlieBooksNYC

Office 2013 - Info that Micro Soft Didn't Provide
This manual is written in plain English with appropriate images that mirror that which you'd usually see on your computer. It fills a huge hole that should have come with the Office 2013 MS Programme. If you are lost having tried [mostly unsuccessfully] to understand the MS "Help" or "Tutorials" this could well be your viable solution at a considerably timesaving / cheaper option.

All in one for Office 2013
There are so many versions of Office (2007, 2013, etc.) around these days, having a book on Excel, Word, and so on could result in a large library. So, I decided to go for one book entitled "Office". This seems to do the job, all in one package. This book uses lots of color, making it easy to follow. Cuts down on my library too.

Great book
I bought a new computer with Windows 8 & the new Office 2013 software. My old computer had XP & Office 2000. Needless to say things had changed considerably. I went to get the "Dummies" books for both the Windows 8 & Office but saw the "Teach Yourself Visually" & bought those. Far & away these are better books. Lots of pictures so you can relate to what's on your computer screen. The language in the books are for those of us who are not "techies". From now on the "Teach Yourself Visually" books will be what I purchase.

This was an excellent tool for me as my work computer not only moved from Vista to Windows 7 but also to Office 2013. My learning time was limited by the time needed to continue to perform my work tasks. This tutorial is "friendly" and also a great reference tool. Unlike many who are using Office, WORD is my least used program so I especially appreciated all the time spent on the tutorial for the other programs.

Overall it was a good task-oriented look at what I find to be a complicated Office 2013. I wish' however, that it wd've had a more depth section on Publisher, which is the reason I bought the book. A great text-reference book.
