Comfortable
After many trials and errors with other chinstraps, this one is a winner. Since it is adjustable, I can find my comfort level for all night wearing. It is a game-changer for me, allowing my CPAP to work properly. Great product.

so far so good.
I'm giving this 4 stars for now, as i'm not sure how well it will stay in place and how durable it is. First of all, I got this to see if it eliminates snoring when my mouth stays closed. I'm not a heavy snorer but if this can stop the occasional tired snoring then it's worth the low cost. It's made of a very thin tan color neoprene like material. It does have that wetsuit smell but it doesn't bother me. Not like you put the chin strap on your nose, but it has 2 Velcro straps one for the back of the head and one for the top. The XL is for my large head, which wears between a large hat and sometimes xl hat, but I have the Velcro on its tightest settings and with it on, I can still move my mouth. But with that said though, I feel the elasticity around my chin that it's holding up the bottom of my chin up, but not really sure if it can keep my mouth closed. But just testing it, it feels comfortable enough where I can sleep with it on. Will report if it works or not. I think most of these have durability issues, but looking at the sewing and the Velcro, it seems constructed well enough. But will report if it eventually stretches out or just doesn't stay on as well.Update #1: only wore it once, but it didn't fall off. I'm pretty sure i roll around like both sides, but not that much lol. But it stayed on through the night. Like i said it is sort of thin, so i thought maybe it would slide off or something, but it didn't. I woke up with it still on my chin and actually my chin was pretty warm with it in that cup shape all night lol. Maybe this is better for a double chin then snoring lol, but i'm still testing it. How you might be asking? LOL, well i bought an olympus recorder, its very cheap in the 28-30 dollar range, vn7200 model and it works great, records via sound level, so if you start to snore it records. You can record how long you snored overnight haha. And actually i did snore less with it on. But i'm testing combinations, nose sprays, breathe right strip, chin strap combinations, so it could be a combination effect that can help reduce snoring. I sometimes get congestion in the spring and use fluticasone propionate i think it's called, it works great for that pollen season congestion and now is over the counter at like CVS type places. So something, you should ask your doctor before trying but i think it works well. Will post more as i learn what works.

... same chin straps in the past and they work great. They seem to hold up well for about ...
I have bought these exact same chin straps in the past and they work great. They seem to hold up well for about a year or so and then will start to loosen up from daily wear and weekly washing. I have tried other brands in the past and when I found this one I have stuck with it because it really worked well for my application. There is no chaffing and it doesn't leave any marks on your face. I have not experienced any kind of allergic reaction from the material either. It seems to be able to breathe where it makes contact with the chin and cheeks, however, when it is very warm out, it does tend to cause a little dampness on the chin. When I purchase this item, I usually buy 2 at a time and I would buy this again.

Stinks so bad it's unusable.
This product functioned as it should, and did a great job of it, but the chemical offgassing of the mask makes it completely unusual. The stench is overwhelming! It kinda smells like a plastic oily smell that gets on your face and in your hair. I took this off at 8:00am and I could still smell the neoprene stench in my hair at dinner that night. I showered - no change. I even went so far as to wash it, (No change) and soak it in pure vinegar for a complete day and its STILL just as bad. Very disappointing - especially for an American made product.

It smells horrible, is mostly uncomfortable, and way too loose to work
My Husband was using this for trying to help keep his mouth shut while sleeping with a CPAP. However, he stated he was waking up with it feeling sweaty, and it kept hanging up and catching/irritating the stubble on his face. It was also way too loose and couldn't be tightened to the point where it would help keep his mouth shut, even though he has a very large head. Lastly, he has to wash his hair two or three times and scrub his face multiple times in the morning to get the stink of this off his skin. Other chin straps are more comfortable, actually work keeping the mouth closed during the night, and don't smell anywhere near as bad. His recommendation, look elsewhere. The only positive he could come up with is that when you first put it on, it does feel cool at first and that is nice, but within 5-10 minutes the material has warmed up and starts to trap heat instead of wick it away.

Nice design but too small, needs extender
I have started breathing through my mouth at night so I bought a couple different types of chinstraps to see which works best. First off, I have a large head so I tried to find larger chinstraps. This Topaz model is very comfortable but it is too small even though it claims to be Extra Large. I modified it by using spare pieces of Velcro to make the top strap wider. I have included pictures to show what I did. The seller should include an extra extension piece of Velcro so that the chinstrap would fit more people. It’s a very inexpensive fix and it would make the product perfect. The chinstrap does have a neoprene type odor so if you’re sensitive to different smells it might not be the right item for you.

Better than red version, not as good as old grey version
This is better than the red version of the chin strap (by cardinel?) - the ruby red brand, but not nearly as good as the old grey version that was made by Viasys. The material of this strap is somewhat thicker & less stretchy than the old grey one but not as thick as the ruby red one, thank goodness. The shape is a little better than the ruby red but again not as good as the old grey one - that one was designed to be comfortable & keep the mouth shut. The straps are wider all around than the old one & that's annoying & unnecessary- but easily corrected by trimming some of off all around - altho you have to resew the velcro fastener, if you trim that part. Altogether disappointing- I wish the old company was still in business. That was the only strap I found that fit well & did the job without being uncomfortable, hot & itchy (the ruby red is hot & itchy- lousy choice in material).
