I've used the Alfred's Basic Piano Course to teach my students piano for years. It guides me through teaching the music theory my students need and also progresses through the various levels at a rate that's quick enough to keep my students from getting too bored! I also use their Piano Solo books for recital pieces, etc. Excellent and challenging series for piano students of all levels- from 1A up. When you get into books 4,5, and 6, the pieces have some decent substance and provide plenty of challenge.Alfred's Basic Piano Library Theory, Bk 3

This our third set of these books for my children. Great price and the only ones our piano teacher uses. My children have progressed fairly quickly and these books are easy to use and understand.

Although I'm an adult student, my teacher recommended this as a supplement to other music books I'm learning from. The book is kid-oriented but still useful. I take piano from a college professor at the college where I work and he likes the book.

Our piano teacher uses these with our kids. I sometimes find them a little cheaper on Amazon, and it saves me a trip to the music store. I have 3 kids in various levels currently.

It came dirty, like black powder dust or something, and it was a little bent on the pages, I cleaned it, but it was kind of disappointing...It came in a package with other books and the other books were perfectly fine, it was just this one.

Fantastic theory book. Easy to fly through, yet teaches you so much! Alfred's is my recommendation! From level 1 to level 3 within a year.
