Impressive performance at a great price
I was upgrading a 6 year old ASUS router because the signal kept dropping, the range was poor even across our open floorplan, 1500 sq ft home, and even when I did have strong connection I was not getting anywhere near my advertised up/download speeds. After what felt like months of research and consideration, I opted not to go the mesh route, and picked up this unit instead. The most immediate impact I noticed was the range improvement. When placed in an identical spot as the previous unit, this broadcast the signal well beyond where the other router dreamed. Front yard, back yard, you name it. Where my previous router maxed out at just over 200mb/s this new router is constantly in the 550mb/s range (of my advertised 600).Easy to install, it's a router, plug, play, update your password. Really impressive performance from this unit at this price range.

Easy setup. Good range. Good speed and connectivity.
I am at my in-law's. Needed a reliable WiFi connection to reach my RV (home). My old Netgear died and the TP-Link AC2600 seemed like the best choice for my need. Setup went very smooth and was somewhat intuitive. I am connected to the internet through a Spectrum modem. Spectrum is the weak link for reliability and speed.I got a new HP printer and connected it through the WPS procedure. Went smooth. We watch Fire TV and that setup went smoothly. Even our laptops connected to the network with ease. I am not a tech guy. Very pleased with router setup and performance. Been up and running for a few days now and have not had to reset the router once! Yes, was resetting the old router a couple of times a day. :(

Worked great until it didn't.
Had this router for about 7 months working great. It had great range and great speed. About month 8 the issues started I had to reboot it about once every 2 weeks or so because all my devices would loose internet connection. I checked the modem and straight connected to the internet and everything worked. About month 9-10 I had to reboot every few days to connect to the internet and by about a year I had to restart the router daily to connect to the internet. I contacted the manufacturer and they ran troubleshooting and decided I needed a new router.Their policy for replacing your router is to send the broken on in and then they will mail you a new one once they have the old one or your could pay $14.99 and they will send you a new one within a week and you mail the old one back once you have the new one. If you want it sooner then it's $49.99 for 2 days shipping.I was disappointed to receive a refurbished router with a 90 day warranty. When the old one I'm replacing has 2 years warranty. So not only do you not get a brand new router. You also now only have 90 days warranty. Buyer Beware

Very Happy With This Router
My previous WiFi router was built into my cable modem. It was pretty basic and only provided a 2 ghz band signal with just 8 channels to pick from. I used it to connect my Nest thermostat to an app on my smartphone and to connect my Amazon Fire TV stick to the Internet. I also used it to connect our smartphones and our 3 laptops to the Internet. It worked fine for a while. But then, the WiFi started to disappear every 2-3 days. When I logged into the cable modem, I could see the WiFi signal turned on, but nothing was happening. So, I had to reboot the modem and then everything was fine again. I got tired of this every few days - especially when we are traveling and gone for a while, I like to make sure my furnace or air conditioner is working while we are gone. So, I log into the Nest thermostat where I can see what the house temp is and make any changes I might want. If the WiFi disappears, I don't know if it because the power is off (we live in the boonies) or there is another problem at home which then gets me worried. I don't like dealing with the cable company as they are hard to get someone to come to your house and service their equipment. So, I decided to look for an external router that had more features and would be more reliable.Looking at the reviews, I picked this one. Sams Club sells this same router for $40 more, so this Amazon price is a good deal. It came quickly. It comes with hook-up diagrams that give you different ways to set it up. One way is to use an app on your smartphone and set it up through the app. We have neighbors who installed a different brand of router at their house recently and tried to use that router's app to configure their router and had all kinds of trouble. When they called me, I suggested not using the app but connecting their computer directly to the router and configuring it that way. It worked for them just fine. Having gone through their experience, I decided to go the direct route and just hook my laptop into this router and do the setup as a direct connection. The documentation that comes with the router shows you how. This router has a step-by-step procedure to set the thing up, so you just go through the steps. On the last step, you have to connect the router to your cable modem so it has access to the Internet. You have to reboot it once - and then you are good to go.What I like about this router is that it has both 2 ghz and 5 ghz bands you can use. Most everyone in my neighborhood uses the 2 Ghz band and so the channels are crowded. The 5 Ghz band had only one other household using it, so plenty of spare channels available. There are free apps you can download from the google play store for your smartphone to check WiFi signals around your neighborhood, so you can see who is using what band and channel and pick one that you like. But this is for the more technically inclined and you can get by with the defaults that the router sets up for you and you probably won't have any problems. It is useful to change the password in your router and not leave it as the default. That makes it harder to hack for those crappy hackers who want their hands on your personal info and bank accounts. So, once the router was set up and it connected to the Internet, everything worked great. There is a set of lights on top of the router that show you when everything is working and that you are connected to the Internet. My Amazon Fire TV stick saw the WiFi signal and I set it up on the 5 Ghz band since I was seeing a 100% signal strength. The Nest thermostat also saw the 5 Ghz band, so I have it connected there. Our laptops are too old to use the 5 Ghz band, so they are set up on the 2 Ghz band. Our smartphones see both bands so I am using the 5 Ghz band for those too. Nice to have a choice. So far, after several weeks of operation - no problems at all. This router has been very reliable and I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Great inexpensive router.
(Edit Mar.21st.2020) Due to Coronavirus we were essentially stuck in and working from home. This router made it all possible without a hitch (End Edit)I LOVE this router. My household has a mix of wired and wireless clients and I really had a hard time getting the wireless side right. The former Apple and TpLink routers could not really cope with the increasing number of WiFi devices vying for the available bandwidth. While the house’s layout is not exactly challenging, we had endless problems with performance/ disconnections. The former Archer C8 was particularly troublesome in this respect even with the help of extenders.Well, all of those issues are a thing of the past now with this new router. It might not be the fastest or the flashiest out there but with our mix of phones, tablets, streamers and laptops it never skipped a beat. No more poor connections on Skype calls, no more buffering on Crave and Netflix, no more unexplainable disconnects, solvable only by power cycling the router. The setup was pretty straightforward with no hiccups. Perhaps the only one is our old wireless HP printer which connected but took ages to respond and print anything, probably due to some incompatibility. There were no new firmware available for this printer so I solved the problem by simply connecting it via regular Ethernet. Problems gone! Now my new wifi router collects dust undisturbed. As it should.Did I mention I love it?

Excellent speed, easy setup
Easy setup, excellent performance and 5G band range. User interface is good for beginner and intermediate users. Heavy power users may want different router like Asus for advanced features. I'm very impressed with 5G range and speeds with this router (which I prefer to use exclusively for my devices. Band steering seems to force my 5G capable devices to 2G even at short range (which reduces performance/speed/latency). My router is being used in a 1900 sq ft 2 storey house, modem located on main floor. 5G range covers my back and front yard (small yard in new area) with 30mb+ speeds at furthest distances outside. Inside house every spot gets 80+ speeds no matter where. Very good router for the money. PS - purchased compatible TP-Link range extender with OneMesh support but found range increased only marginally and speeds off range extender capped out at 60mb standing right beside it. Would only recommend range extender when absolutely needed in large houses that do not have any wifi coverage, and know wifi speeds will be limited off any range extender.
