Very interactive! - This has been such a favorite of our three children, they are arguing over who will get it now their children are grown up!!! I solved the problem and bought three copies to give them in their stockings...dutifully signed by Papa and Nana! Review: Charming, underrated children's book that more should read - "Robert the Rose Horse" was one of my favorite books as a kid in the early/mid 70s. It's darling, funny, has great repetition of its jokes, and is just plain FUN to read dramatically with kids, who can learn to play along and quote the repeated parts in order to participate. I give this book to EVERY friend with little kids, and it seems that almost no one remembers it, which is too bad because it's a gem. I highly recommend it for kids age 2 1/2 or 3 up till 6 or 7 (whenever you stop reading together). It's a silly, fun fantasy, it has a fun, sweet story, and it's just plain entertaining. Definitely worth it!

Very fun book!
I used to read this to my son and now I’m reading it to my grandsons. It’s a wonderful book that the kids really love because of the loud sneeze sound. You have to make when you’re reading it. Always a good time and a lot of laughs. You’ll find yourself being asked to read this over and over again by your little one.

Great short and fun story of perseverance
I vaguely remembered a book from my childhood of a character that had huge sneezes that went KERCHOO! I love that book as a 7 year old. So I searched the internet and found it here! Just received it today and already read it to my little one (8 months old) . Everything came back to me. No wonder I liked it. It's a nice story of a character with a bit of a handicap that moves to the big city to find work. Even though his handicap keeps getting in the way, causing him to lose jobs, he works hard at each job and is grateful for the work. He finally secures a position with the police department and his handicap saves the day! And yes, police have guns because bad guys do too. This is the reality of the world we live in and to deny that is a recipe to socially handicap a child.

It's not only a good story, it also come with a little fun ...
This book has the look of Suess but it's illustrated by P.D. Eastman. There are more by this artist and they are lovely, too. My Mom read me this book when I was a child. In the '60s. LOL. I recently gained a new grand niece and nephew. I wanted to read to them, and some how this book popped into my head. I can't wait to share with them. It's not only a good story, it also come with a little fun action that makes the kids laugh. See, throughout the story, Robert the Rose Horse keeps sneezing because of his allergies. And everytime you come to this in the story, you look at the little one, who isn't able to read yet, and they contribute a great big sneeze. Cuddle time at it's best. I think my Mom would approve.

Anthropomorphicly Inconsistent
Ok are the animals bipeds or quadrupeds let's make up our mind here. Why are we still using horses for transportation and as beasts of burden if they're sentient and cognizant? Is this an allegorical allusion to our sociopolitical descent into more and more dystopic classism? Are the rural masses to be seen as no more than animals to metropolized bourgeoisie? Also why did Robert just get a police shirt and not police pants?
