Honeywell HC888V1 Replacement Humidifier Filter C

I bought this filter to get my humidifier ready for winter. It was functioning just fine when I went to add more water to my machine and noticed some black globules floating in the residual water in the bottom of the machine. I took the machine apart and the filter was black! This was after a couple of refills. We had just moved back into our house after it was rebuilt...the neighbour's house burnt down and damaged ours. The HVAC had been professionally cleaned as had the house. Well I found out from the HVAC guys that smoke and soot gets into places you would never think of during a fire such as behind surviving baseboards, door hinges etc. When we turned on the heater for winter and the house was closed up, the negative pressure pulled this smoke and soot out of their hiding places and into our air. This filter worked well since there was no black on the outgoing side and it was a good warning system as well.

This filter fits my humidifier and does what it's supposed to. It looks different than what is shown as it has a blue felt type layer on the outside. There is an insert that does show the filter looking as I described. It states that this layer inhibits the growth of bacteria and mold, prevents buildup of slime in water & humidifier surfaces. The filters I purchased before were to be replaced every 3 months. This one is to be changed monthly. That is why I gave value only 3 stars as it costs more because it does have to be replaced monthly.

AWESOME product and cheaper online than sold in stores. Replaced my filter in my Honeywell and purchased at the store; it was the WRONG size. Was told they didn't carry this size even tho I purchased the Humidifier at the store. Came Amazon, checked the size, and ordered TWO. These stand up well, and hold the water as they're meant to. Must rinse out with water BEFORE putting out to dry, ad air dry thoroughly if you're not going to use. (It is BEST to replace after 30 days). A very good product and will be purchasing more.

I bought this for a Honeywell C and they fit okay. The filters are knock-offs, which I felt wasn't made apparent on the listing. They are good quality but slightly over-sized. They still work and will fit in the humidifier. I don't think I'd buy them again. Though.

First bad thing was when it arrived the box that it was supposed to be in was opened and it was just laying thrown down in the Amazon box, second was the inside of the filter looked somewhat off colored or a tan looking color.. but I thought maybe that’s just the way it looks or I was seeing stuff since this was my first time buying this brand. It seemed very “cheap” and flimsy.. I could tell it probably won’t last long but I may be surprised.. I just received it yesterday so I’ll updated after using it..Then I went to put it in my humidifier and you could tell it’s the right size but when I was putting the cover of the humidifier over the filter it’s like it didn’t want to fit properly but it went on.. (I double checked to make sure I bought the right size cause like I said I’ve never bought this brand, but it was correct according to my humidifier and the box the filter came in)I personally wasn’t too pleased with my first experience with this brand of filter.. I’m trying to like it but so far not so good

Fits in Honeywell as it should, and seems to work just as well as the one that came with it originally. We are now flipping the filter over each morning as someone else suggested in these reviews and it is helping A LOT. We can feel the top edge being a little dried out each morning, but then by flipping it over and storing it in the water all day it seems to help.

I bought these filters for our Honeywell humidifier. They are required so, of course, they serve our purpose. They do tend to gather the dust and dirt and need to be changed about once a month. I have found them for a much lower cost at various stores, but many don't carry them anymore as the humidifier has been replaced with newer models.
