BAOFENG UV-82 BATTERY ELIMINATOR ON MY HAM BENCH
I'm using a BaoFeng UV-82 2-Way Radio as a 4-Channel Scanner on my Amateur Radio Bench. The radio works fine as a scanner however I've gotten tired of having to re-charge a radio that basically just sits on my Ham Radio Bench. As the radio is on a stationary mount on my Ham Bench I figured that powering up the BaoFeng UV-82 with my 12VDC Bench Power Supply would be a good thing. The Battery Eliminator arrived today and after a quick test I determined several things.1. The Battery Eliminator works just fine2. The screws holding on the belt clip must be removed to exit the Battery and place the Battery Eliminator in place.3. The belt clip screws can go back on the radio with the battery eliminator in place and hold the belt clip in place.4. If you leave the radio in Channel Mode and turn off the 12VDC, when you restore the power, the radio wakes up in the Channel Mode not in the Frequency Mode. It wakes up in the mode it was in when the power was removed.5. The radio is substantially lighter with the battery eliminator in place.6. The power cord seems to be a quality coil cord with a length perfect for laying your radio on the passenger car seat.7. The power plug looks substantial and has a little red LED power indicator light and a F3AL/250 glass fuse in the tip. It's a good unit.SEPT 15, 2014I indicated that the belt clip screws have to be removed to place the battery eliminator on the radio. Well, that's true on the BaoFeng UV-82 however, on the re-branded PoFung UV-82, the battery eliminator slips in (and the battery slips out) WITHOUT the removal of the screws. Somebody in China made a case modification for the better.

Perfect.
This works perfectly. It works exactly like it is supposed to. Can you make perfect any better? The only con I have for this adapter is that this perfect - could be better - if the cord came out of the side, rather than the bottom of it. That way it woud sit in a cup holder. Like it is, you having to lay it down on the dash or console.Great little battery saving device for automotive use!

Very useful for long trips so the battery is not drained
Works really well with the vehicle cigarette lighter. Note: This replaces the battery and does not charge the battery. Very useful for long trips so the battery is not drained.

great accessory for uv-82
If you use your uv-82 as much as I do, always being on the go, sometimes you dont get the chance to recharge your radio, or you forget any extra batterys, this is a fantastic option if your using it in a vehicle or atv or utv. This allows you to use your radio and save your battery or if you ran the battery out. or if you have a dc power supply using it as a base. This is a great accessory to have for your uv-82. It fits the radios nice and snug. The coiled cord gives you some room to move around. Great product, great price, great optional accessory for your radio. in my opinion a must have.

Just what I needed and great support!
The first one that I received kept blowing the fuse when you tried to use it. Within an hour of getting it, I asked on Amazon for it to be replaced. The second one showed up the next day and my return was real easy by going to a designated return location. The product works great! No worries about battery life while in the car or in my off-road vehicle. I believe that others have said that they can't transmit when using this, but I have not found that to be the case. Transmit/receive - everything works perfect.

Power
Cigarette plug was more robust than it appears in the photos. But light. Battery pack is light and thin. Not much else to say. Powers the radio. (GMRS V2)

No problems.
I've been using this BaoFeng Tech UV-82 battery eliminator with a Pyramid PS9KX power supply (also from Amazon) for a month and it has performed flawlessly. Install the eliminator first and just plug the eliminator into the socket on the power supply, turn on the supply, and THEN turn on the UV-82. Turn off the UV-82 before you switch off the power supply. Checking with local hams, My signal is clean, with no hum. The eliminator has one very minor fault. I wish that the power cable was routed through a hole in the SIDE of the eliminator instead of through the bottom. I use "Bookchair" book holders with my my BaoFeng HTs by clipping them to the holder, which acts like a stand to hold the HT and minimizes the minor bottom routed cable fault.

Work's very well.
This battery eliminator does just that. Makes it nice to carry the HT on my side-by-side without worrying about the dang battery life. Very reasonably priced, also. The only suggestion is that they should make these curly cords longer. About a foot of extra length would be great. This is typical of all curly cords, though. Well pleased.

Product that was sent was not like the one in the photo
Product that was sent was not like the one in the photo. It seemed to be an aftermarket product and was only for 12 volt input. I needed 12-24 volt input. Product returned.
