Highly Recommend!
Excellent and complete quality customer service! I am so impressed with this companies customer service that I have stopped my mid-day work activities to make writing this review a priority. The Product: Like others I did my research and ePhoto Studios kept coming up with excellent reviews. So I picked out the package that would work for me and ordered this kit. I am not professional photographer but needed equipment to shoot videos for our service company. And because I am not a professional photographer I have no need to invest in higher priced equipment to receive, perhaps, higher quality. Yet, this being said I am completely satisfied with the quality of this kit and see no reason why a professional could not use this equipment. One of the things that makes me nervous about shopping online is if something were to come to me damaged and the hassle it would be verses just returning the item back to a store location. Well, one of the stands did come with a small plastic part that was broken. Although I always prefer talking to a live person Amazon is set up to use email, and Amazon monitors these emails which I like, I sent out my email at 4:50 PM with the expectation that I would not hear from anyone till the next day....WRONG! I received a reply in less than 15 minutes. To make this long story short the part that I needed was sent to me the very next day. I installed the part but it was not the exact part, no problem for I am pretty handy and I could make it work, but I did let ePhoto know. Again, right away I got a response back that they would send out another part. So, I assumed it would just be the right small plastic part that I needed but instead, to my complete surprise, they sent me a brand new stand! I am definitely not the kind of person who is looking for a free be and I am not recommending this company because they sent me a new stand. I am recommending this company because they viewed me as an important customer not an order number!Too many times I read reviews where people bash a company because something comes to them damage, but reality is with the way shippers handle packages sometimes items come damage. But what makes me go back to and stay with a company is how their customer service handles the type of situation I experienced...which I can not think of anything else ePhoto could have done for I am completely satisfied with the product, the company and especially the customer service I received! As I stated I am not a professional photographer so it is unlikely I will need to purchase any other items but if I do I will absolutely buy from ePhoto and I absolutely would recommend this company to anyone and everyone!PS. I believe their quality is much higher than one would think for such a reasonable price.Thank you, Loyal Customer

This is a disposable lighting kit.
This is a decent enough kit if you don't plan on using it much. I've had this kit for a few years, but have only used it around 10 times or so. In that time, each of the lights have suffered failure where the metal rods from the soft box is inserted. This area is just bare plastic with no metal reinforcement, so over a short bit of time, the tension from the rods pushes it's way through the plastic, rendering it unable to accept the soft box. I started to see stress on the insertion points after only 3 or 4 uses. I would not recommend this kit unless you literally plan on it being disposable. I suppose if I would consider buying it again, if I needed lighting for an interview which I had to fly to. It would be cheaper to buy this kit and leave it behind than to either rent on location or ship my own gear.Bottom line; If you are a complete novice, avoid this kit, as the directions are pretty much useless, and unless you are familiar with all the components, you will be frustrated. Don't expect much from this kit.

Some issues with this product, but workable
Unboxing and setting this up was tricky. Instructions are less than desireable but slowly figured it out and ultimately found easier ways to get it right making the setup quicker. This is not a one time setup for me. It's portable so I have to have slick methods for making this happen even if I need to find a different storage box. One thing I didn't like is that the material was so wrinkled that it took me several hours of pressing to get rid of most of the wrinkles. Secondly, the main bar that holds up the green muslin is rather flimsy and I'll probably replace that with water pipe. Most of the objectives of the lighting seem to be ok and first test worked well. Be prepared to make some changes for easier setup and breakdown.

Good, but could be much better.
The umbrella light kit was easy to set up, but could've been better in several ways.1, it should've included sliver umbrellas.2, the lights should've had silvered reflectors to enhance the light intensity.3, the lights should've been at least 70 to 100 watts instead of 45.4, a black cover for the white umbrellas would've been nice too, even though it's good to be able to shoot through the white umbrellas for soft box effect. At least you can allways add these items later. :)I like the case it came in.The stands worked nicely.I added the silvered umbrellas later which worked much better than just the white umbrellas. You can see the effect of these umbrellas in a video I uploaded to youtube, called Nessun Dorma on Theremin by Thomas Grillo, and Danny Boy on Theremin by Thomas Grillo. :)

What the...?
Supposedly (according to my order list), this is the product I purchased but it isn't. I got inner and outer diffusion screens which work fine so I'm okay with that. It shipped fast which was nice. The instructions were pretty useless but I'm a resourceful person and figured out how to put it together without out too much trouble. It's true what people say about the substandard quality of the muslin sheet. If you like elephants and wrinkles, you'll love it. Or if you like to iron (which I don't). I'm a total amateur to green screen video making so, all in all, I'm happy for what I got for the price and free shipping. It's a cheap, decent step in the right direction.

Excellent and exactly what I ordered.
I can't complain about any of this. I could have gotten a more sturdy tripod but not for this money. The bulbs are 5000k and put off a great white light. 6000k lights would put out more of a white light but there is nothing stopping you from buying them and installing with this set up. The stands take any standard light bulb. I wouldn't go throwing these things around, but I would be happy setting them up and using them as intended. If you intend on using a backdrop you may want to go for the 4 piece, but the three piece seems to work great.I am still playing with them but if you want help understanding lighting and photography I suggest this article:[...]Hope this helped somebody out there.
