Solid replacement stem
If you bought a frost free outdoor faucet from Home Depot more than 10 years ago, this is probably the right part you're looking for. After one of my outdoor faucets started leaking through the handle I assumed to standard repair kit at Home Depot would fix it. Wrong. They switched suppliers years ago from BK Mueller to Woodford and, of course, the design is totally different. Finding this design in town is almost impossible now. Check the markings on for faucet, if you have the old Mueller design, this is the replacement stem you want. Get the right size though.

Not the complete part
Was not the coplmplete assembly as described.

The overall length of this stem is about 16".
Help overall length (OAL) listed. Purchased without knowing the length, nominal or OAL, hoping the OAL = 12" to match stem for outdoor faucets. Bought to check and replace the washers on stems of my outside faucets without having to leave the water off. However, the Mueller B&K 888-558 was too long at 16". Therefore, I returned it. A careful search of reviews indicates a Mueller B&K 888-556 is supposed to be 12" long. I ordered it to see if it is what I want. Matched my original to the Mueller B&K 888-558 in its bag for a side-by-side visual comparison. The Mueller B&K should work okay when I get 12" stem.

Thankfully that was a good gamble, as I now have a faucet that ...
I used this to replace a 12-inch stem assembly for a Fusan 2264A faucet that was resold by Ferguson / FNW Valves over 20 years ago (Ferguson no longer carries the parts, but you can choose to contact Fusan for a US distributor, if you wish) Anyhow, I took a risk on buying this, because I figured between Prime shipping and the price, I couldn't go too wrong. Thankfully that was a good gamble, as I now have a faucet that doesn't leak any more.

Wrong size, need to return.

Fixed leak
I tried replacing the rubber washers and the faucet would still leak from the handle. I put this in and it's good as new.
