An Okay Laser, But Delicate
UPDATE 03/22/2019On 03/05/2019 I went to the manufacturer's site, filled out a request for a replacement, and uploaded the same picture as posted here. The next day I received an email with instructions on how to send them the defective unit. I didn't get around to sending it to them until a couple of days later on the 11th, with UPS estimating arrival on the 15th. Today I received the replacement via 2-day USPS Priority Mail service. A one-week turnaround on a replacement with no hassle at all is excellent customer service.I've also had a chance to take the two original units to the range. Both units sighted in readily, and did not shift their point of aim. This was through a course of fire that consisted of about 75 rounds each of 5.56x45mm and 7.62x39mm ammo.So obviously you won't be using these units in their plastic housing as a hammer to drive tent stakes into the ground, but for their purpose I'm pleased with them. And Sightmark seems to honor their lifetime guarantee.ORIGINAL REVIEWI bought one of these lasers, and thought it looked so good I bought another one. I haven't had it on the range yet, but the green laser looks very visible at home, especially in contrast with my red lasers. With a simple, rubber on/off button, there can't any confusion about turning the laser on or off. And with a single CR-123A battery, it matches the rest of my emergency supplies. It may be a little big, but that isn't a problem for my rifles.Unfortunately, as mentioned in the review by Idonno, torquing this laser in place proved to be a problem. Even though the instructions say to 45-65 inch/pounds of torque, based on the review by Idonno I set my torque wrench to 25 inch/pounds of torque. This worked fine on the first laser, but when mounting the second unit the plastic housing broke at the bottom of the Picatinny rail housing (see attached photo). As near as I can tell, it broke at about the 20 inch/pound mark, which makes my torque wrench useless for mounting these as it has a minimum rating of 25 inch/pounds.I've ordered another one of these, and will go through the warranty process to get the broken unit repaired. I'll update this review after taking the two units on the range, and after seeing what happens with the warranty return.

Its surpassed my hopes in functionality, but looks cheap.
Ok, where do I start? First off, its a rifle laser. Nobody w/ any skill NEEDS one, but this reminded me of a peq laser (except its visible not IR and the HUGE knobs)I had in the Army and I wanted to be able to point shoot accurrately. Im big on round accountability, especially when we're talking about home defense, and this is perfect for that. The ad said upto 50 yds in the daytime, however, I could still see the dot over 100 yds away on a neighbors garage on a bright California afternoon. It is really bright and easy to see. Despite the huge windage/elevation knobs, but they arent all that bad. Initially I thought Id have to worry about accidentally spinning those big knobs....I can rest easy! The knobs have a good amount of resistance, and has very solid/audiable clicks. This thing has excelled in many categories I thought for sure it would fail horribly in. I went from skeptical when I first got it, to proud to have this piece of equiptment on my rifle. Its everything I had hoped itd be except on one area, and its a doozy!Another reviewer had mentioned how cheap this item is built. Both the on/off switch on the device, aswell as the pressure switch is very cheaply executed. The rubber button looks like its gonna fall off, and the pressure switch is not much better. The pressure switch gets stuck, which is bad if you are attempting "light discretion" in order to get the jump on would be invaders. This is made in China, so just keep that on your mind if you still want it. I like mine regardless of where it was made.If this stands the test of time (comes w/ 3 yr warranty if you register it), I dont forsee any issues.....***UPDATE***I contacted Sightmark regarding a possible accessory for this laser that would help in the one area where it lacks....water resistance. W/in hours, I recieved an email notifying me that my email was sent to their product developement department. Honestly, I was expecting no response but they were really cool about it! Hopefully those of us w/ this product will see a product thatll make it much more water resistant, or if done right, submersible!!!

So Far, SO Good!
I have not owned this sight long enough to comment on the quality of construction, so I won't. It looks nice and all but only time will tell us how well built it is.What it does do is perform exactly as one would expect. I took it to the range and set it up on my AR as one would with a scope. Starting close and moving out from there. It was a pretty incredible experience for this first-time laser user. Drop the rifle to chest level, put the dot on any of the large or small targets on the paper and proceed to blow out the 10 and X rings. It was just like you'd see on TV or a movie which only made the experience more surreal. Imagine a product working just like you'd pictured in your mind, that doesn't happen very often! The knobs made adjustment very quick and easy. It did come with a battery and I will let it run low so I can see how the laser reacts to the loss of power but it does not look like the highest quality battery ever made. Have a new battery ready from your store of CR123's.Since this is the house home defense long gun I reset the sight to 20 yards after playing with it for a while. The low price for a green laser is interesting since they are still pretty new and generally command a premium price. The light is bright and was easily visible at the distances I tried it on; it was tested on a very bright and sunny day.We will see how this relatively inexpensive device stands up to the test of time but it has certainly convinced me that, whether it's this make and model or something more expensive, I need to have a laser on my home defense weapons.

Disappointing
So I purchased this for an airsoft gas blow-back rifle project. I purchased along with the Sightmark Ultra Reflex sight w/ QD and digital switch. Together on a custom AR-15 platform these things look sexy. I'm a gear whore and loved the "different" look of this laser box and figured it would be a good tool to have in CQB.Unfortunately for me I sighted in my reflex sight and then sighted the laser in on the reticle. First shots were great and right on target. However, after several rounds of IPSC/CAPS shooting and my disappointment showed its ugly face. Going to the range side to do a quick check I noticed that the laser was no longer on it's zero. So, I re-zeroed, shot a few shots and noticed that it was still almost on target, but that it had shifted ever-so-slightly down and left. So, while aiming down the sight with my rifle on a bench rest I tapped the laser box with my finger several times and to my dismay the laser drastically moved down and left.Overall a great disappointment from Sightmark. I am a huge fan of what they do (or try to do), and so far really enjoy the reflex sight, but the LoPro laser was a huge disappointment, mainly because I love how crisp the laser itself is and how well it goes together with the reflex sight. I am now returning it for a full refund thanks to Amazon.ca's great return policy. Though this has been a lemon I will still continue to regularly browse and periodically purchase Sightmark products.Externally: 9/10 - Very clean and solid constructionFunctionally: 1/10 - Turns on, adjusts zero, but does not hold zero through extended fire/useOVERALL: 2/10 - Nice show piece to go with other Sightmark products, but otherwise useless for airsoft gas rifles or real-steel firearms.

Nice and Bright
Zero sways a little by the end of the day, but it is really really easy to adjust without any tools or even putting your rifle down. Looks nice on the rifle as well, I don't recommend the one with the flash light, but the one without is really nice!
