LENOX Tools Hole Saw, Bi-Metal, Speed Slot, Arbored, 2-3/8-Inch (1772953)

Please understand what you’re buying, this is bi-metal hole saw, so if you’re looking to cut stainless steel or even reinforced fiberglass this is not the saw for you. It’s great for use on wood and plastic. My main complaint is the included arbor and drill bit; the arbor is pressed in/non-removable and the drill bit is low quality.

Drilled 33 holes in 5/8" plywood, still sharp on the last hole. Took 10 to 15 seconds for each hole. Plug remove feature worked very well. The arbor came with the hole saw and unscrews, so I expect it would work with other Lenox hole saws.

Purchased to cut out the bottom of my porta filter in my espresso machine. I have an old Simonelli with e61 group head. Removed the spout at the bottom of the filter in a vice. This cutter had a guide bit in the center, which helped positioning the cut. These portafilters are solid brass? But the cutter went through cleanly with just a cordless Makita drill. Modifying an old portafilter this way was much cheaper than buying a new bottomless one, and this modification removed the worst bits of stain in the old one.

I was worried at first that it would be to small but a test hole in some scrap wood fit like a glove.

This is a great hole saw. Clean cuts, no wobble, and easy to remove thick plugs of wood. I used it for cutting through a lamination of two sheets of plywood (1/2” and 3/4”), and I had no trouble removing the plywood plugs using the cheap screwdriver to pry through the slots in the side. The hole came out the right size and fit the desk grommet for which I cut the hole.

Pretty good for the job, the first one broke but they sent me a new one and it got the job done!

Perfect size for the Anova Precision Cooker. Just cut a hole in the top of a plastic lid, and the machine slides down and rests on the lid perfectly!
