Best of its kind. I have been using this heavily since September so I can't give an account of it working for years, but I have bought them in the past that haven't lasted 30 days the way I use them. I estimate fencing and the wheel can take a beating - I throw it in the trunk between stops. It feels so much higher quality than the other varieties I have used. It has a brake and the counter can be reset from the top handle. It folds nicely but I never fold mine, I just leave it unfolded. The kickstand works well usually, that is often the first thing to brake. The measurement tends to be accurate without having to add much if any to account for the wheel (I have used other brands where you had to add nine inches at each end to get it accurate). Hope this lasts, it was pricier than some of them but well worth the small difference based on the quality, as this is made for professionals.

Not to be confused with a surveying instrument-no wheeled device is that accurate. This will get you "close enough" for everything but the nastiest property line dust up. If you need accuracy beyond + or - 6", you need a professional. Fully assembled, and quality built. Perfect for estimated measurements of moderate distances. The brake prevents overshooting your mark, and you can reset the counter from the handle. The wheel has enough traction for smooth tarmac, rocky, and even grassy surfaces without skipping. When you're done, it folds in half so you can carry it in your Ferrari.

I have used 2 other brands of wheels before this one, neither held up more than 3 months. This wheel lasted me a year, and I immediately ordered a replacement wheel when the counter on mine finally stopped working properly. I estimate for a paving company, so my wheel gets ton of use and abuse. I generally just throw it on the back of my truck and it rolls around with whatever else I may be carrying at the time. Sturdy construction, nice features (trigger stop and thumb reset are great), and very accurate measurements. The only downside to this model wheel is the glass covering the numbers tends to fog up, I used a knife to pop the glass out to eliminate the problem. The bottom line- this $80 wheel blows away the $60 models I went through every 3 months, and it has all of the features you could want in a measuring wheel. Highly recommend and will continue to use as long as it is in production and the product quality remains as is.

This is a nice little measuring wheel - get the 1 foot diameter version as it may be more accurate than the smaller one. I use this to measure trail distances and compare to GPS measurements where satellite coverage is poor. It work best going downhill for some reason, but two way measurements (downhill vs uphill) are pretty close. It seems to track pretty accurately over a known distance or in areas where GPS coverage is good. If it is damp and you are using it on a forest trail it will pick up lots of fir needles or mud in the Pacific Northwest. I back it up a little and brush debris off with my boot, or a rag. I don't think that the needles cause any problem but I don't want them to accumulate and gum up the mechanism hidden beneath the handle over the top of the wheel.

My back is not as spry as it once was, so measuring with these type wheels was bothering me when I was using a model that didn't have the handle-side reset. Got this one because it has a nice big wheel (better for uneven ground) and the top side reset. The kick stand works pretty well on even ground but kind of fails to be terribly stable on anything approaching uneven ground. Sometimes when you unfold it, it doesn't count - it makes a bit of a "ticking noise" to fix. unlock then re-extend/lock it.

I wanted a mid-priced wheel to measure my property line, disc golf holes, and fieldwork with my discs (driving range, putting, etc). Feet are measured accurately. I like the resting on the handle more than I thought...super convenient. Seems fragile I will update if it breaks. Can also reset traditionally down at the counter itself. The brake seems useless for my needs. Another gadget to break eventually The wheel is good quality. I have known measurements at 300-400 foot range, and this is well within a foot, and likely closer to 6 inches, even at those more than football field lengths.

Awesome product. The unit works great and provides accurate and repeatable measurements over an even surface. Makes measuring long distances a breeze. I hesitated spending the extra money on the handle mounted brake and reset button but after using I am glad I did. I have used units before that you had to constantly pick up to reset and now really appreciate that I don't have to do that with this unit. The kick stand support works great too on reasonably level ground so you can "park" it to write down your measurements. Nice.

I use this measure wheel a little differently than most people. I had major “360” back surgery 14 months ago, and since then I’ve been doing physical therapy to strengthen my back muscles. It’s been very difficult to be able to walk any distance without my back spasming. I first used a walker, then a cane, but gait was always off with the cane. After a recent trip, going the the airport, using my suitcase to steady me as I walked I was able to keep up and not get fatigued because the luggage on the rollers helped me with just enough balance. I had thought maybe I could put a wheel on my cane, but then I thought of a measure wheel and it works perfectly for my purpose, and the added plus of knowing how many feet I’ve walked is great! It’s very accurate and easy to use, lightweight and it has a brake that stops on the mark!

excellent quality product -- compact and accurate. seems durable and well constructed. 2 year manufacturer warranty.

Can't get it to measure properly. Every time I use it, it's out by 2ft.
