IDQ12 V.4 D4 - Image Dynamics 12" 1500W Peak Dual 4-Ohm IDQ V.4 Series Subwoofer

Deciding what components to install into my 2019 Chrysler 300C, I decided to go with a more “SQ” install rather than all our SPL as I had in prior vehicles. I’ve known about Image Dynamics and their reputation as a quality, Made in USA brand (for the subs at least) since the 90s, and decided to go with two IDQ12v4 subwoofers. I already had a sealed dual 12” box, and each chamber has just about 1 cubic foot of airspace. The subs are driven by a Rockford Fosgate T1000-1bdCP Constant Power monoblock amplifier. The birth sheet for amp puts it at roughly 1500 watts RMS at 1 and 2 ohms. I’ve got the subs wired down to 1 ohm, so they’re getting about 750 RMS each. Just what they’re rated for. After a few weeks of lower volume to loosen everything up and break them in, I set my gains to match my factory head unit and let them loose. With one of the rear seats down to vent more bass into the cabin of the car, these things absolutely SLAM. I’m MORE than impressed with the output, and they’re extremely musical on all genres. I listen to primarily house, techno, and old school hiphop/rap, with occasional rock and metal thrown in. They sound great on everything. Down the line I plan on possibly upping the box size just a bit, as I’ve read they sound a bit better with more airspace, but for now, I’m very happy with the system. I used a PAC APSUB-CH41 adapter to get a clean 5v RCA output from my factory stereo. Definitely recommend Image Dynamics!

I spent months looking for a good SQ subwoofer to go along with my Hertz 3-way component speakers and round out the sound in my car. Eventually I found this speaker and I certainly was not disappointed. It reproduced the lows on EDM, classical, heavy metal, pop, hip/hop and rap, and even talk radio accurately and efficiently. When I turned the volume up the bass got louder but it was just as clear, tight, and deep. For the price I don't think you can get a better speaker that has this level of SQ. You can also replace the cones on these speakers yourself. So if it gets punctured you can order a new cone instead of buying a new speaker. Overall I'm very satisfied with this speaker. You literally cannot go wrong with this sub. It's easily better than any of the speakers you can buy in the big box stores.

I’ve had T he Jl Audio w6 and w7 and I liked better my IDQ. It keeps sounding good all the way up to full volume and for the price you can get two IDQs instead of one JL.

Great bang for the buck, excellent sound reproduction. Have 2 of these in a sealed box with a good 1500W amp behind them and they are wonderful.
